Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a transmitting device (e.g., a base station) may utilize machine learning to modify a signal as conditions of a channel change to reduce a peak to average power (PAPR). For example, a base station may select a type of machine learning. The base station may receive one or more feedback messages related to a condition of a channel and modify a downlink signal based on the selected type of machine learning and the one or more feedback messages. In some cases, the base station may transmit the modified downlink signal to a user equipment (UE) along with information indicating the modified downlink signal and the UE may reconstruct the downlink signal based on the information.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a capability to receive or transmit a time domain communication having a first portion of a symbol configured with a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and a second portion of the symbol configured with a second MCS that is different from the first MCS. The UE may receive or transmit the time domain communication having the first portion configured with the first MCS and the second portion configured with the second MCS. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The techniques described herein relate to schemes for channel aware tone reservation (CATR) contention with a reference signal. A network entity determines, based on a reference signal pattern, a reference signal resource element within a first slot of a channel for transmitting a reference signal. The network entity determines, based on a CATR pattern, an initial CATR resource element. The CATR pattern is based on a channel frequency response of the channel. The network entity determines a CATR resource element based on the reference signal resource element, the initial CATR resource element, and a resource element scheme of multiple resource element schemes. The multiple resource element schemes resolve a contention between an overlap of the reference signal resource element and the initial CATR resource element. The network entity transmits an indication of the CATR resource element to a user equipment.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network entity may receive an indication of a capability to perform a beam refinement procedure that includes receiving multiple reference signals, via multiple beams using frequency division multiplexing, during a single reference signal burst. A device may be configured to include an array of lenses along with multiple antenna arrays that each include a set of antenna elements. The antenna arrays may each support multiple beam directions, such as a respective beam direction for each lens of the array of lenses. If beams for multiple antenna arrays concurrently pass through the same lens, the lens may contribute to maintaining separation between the beams. Lenses may also contribute to the shaping of beams, and the use of multiple lenses may enhance a coverage area for beams transmitted or received by the antenna arrays.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for lens design for full-duplex communication. In some aspects, a device may use a lens design that enables full-duplex operation through a lens by facilitating an avoidance or mitigation of self-interference during full-duplex operation. The lens may have a first, antenna-facing surface and a second, outward-facing surface and, to avoid or mitigate self-interference due to reflection off the lens, the first surface may have a first curvature associated with a relatively small radius. In such examples, the device may transmit wireless signaling from a transmitting element and a reflection off the lens may be dispersed or otherwise oriented away from a receiving element in accordance with a design of the first curvature. In some implementations, the lens may include an anti-reflective coating to further reduce reflection off the lens.

Method and apparatus for channel oriented modulation selection for improved spectral efficiency. The apparatus receives an activation indication indicating an activation of a modulation selection procedure and a set of REs used for the modulation selection procedure. The activation indication indicating a first modulation for a first subset of REs within the set of REs and a second modulation for a second subset of REs within the set of REs, the first subset of REs having a higher quality than the second subset of REs. The apparatus receives downlink communication based on the modulation selection procedure.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration indicating an intra-slot DMRS pattern. The UE may communicate, with the network entity, a message that is associated with a time domain resource allocation that includes multiple slots, the message including one or more DMRSs in accordance with the intra-slot DMRS pattern and the inter-slot DMRS pattern. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communications device may transmit a first signal. The first signal may be transmitted from a first antenna array of the communications device through a lens of the communications device in a direction. An energy of a portion of the first signal may be below a threshold based on a position of a second antenna array of the communications device. The portion of the first signal may correspond to a portion of a reflection of the first signal that overlaps with the position of the second antenna array. The communications device may concurrently receive, at the second antenna array, a second signal originating from another direction, where the second signal may be focused in the direction of the second antenna array based on the lens.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, the described techniques support resource offset mapping for multiplexing. Resource offset mapping may refer to the mapping of frequency-domain symbols to different subsets of resources that are offset from each other or separated by gaps. For instance, a first wireless device may map a first set of frequency-domain symbols to a first subset of subcarriers and a second set of frequency-domain symbols to a second subset of subcarriers. A lowest subcarrier of the second subset of subcarriers may be separated by an offset or a gap from a highest subcarrier of the first subset of subcarriers. As a result, at least some distortion experienced on subcarriers in the gap may not spread to other subcarriers, and the reliability and throughput of communications between the first wireless device and a second wireless device may improve.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Various aspects relate generally to labeling of modulation constellations. Some aspects more specifically relate to signaling to support selection of labeling configurations of modulation constellations. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) transmits capability information indicating one or more capabilities relating to selection of a labeling configuration that indicates labels for symbols of a modulation constellation. A network node may transmit an indication of a labeling configuration in accordance with the capability information. The labeling configuration, in some examples, may include a Gray labeling configuration that is configured to improve polar coding performance.

In some aspects, a relay may receive, from a network node and via a network node beam, a network node synchronization signal block (SSB). A wireless communication device, such as a network entity or a user equipment (UE), may transmit a message to another wireless communication device, such as a network entity, including a connection establishment request and an indication of a capability of the wireless communication device to support a value of a power efficiency threshold. The other wireless communication device may respond with signaling indicating for the wireless communication device to use a value of a power efficiency for communications between the wireless communication devices. The indication may include one or more parameters indicating the value of the power efficiency. The wireless communication devices may establish a connection in accordance with the value of the power efficiency.
