An improved helmet comprising a fiber reinforced thermosetting resin as a main component is disclosed. In the helmet, at least a part thereof to be subjected to shock adsorption property test defined by JIS T 8133 (1982) is reinforced with a cloth of polyethylene fiber having high tenacity and high modulus such as that having tensile strength of not less than 20 g/denier and tensile modulus of not less than 500 g/denier.

A shielding sheet for blasting operations which comprises a fabric for shielding a site to be destructed by a blasting operation, said fabric composed of a yarn of polyethylene fiber having a tensile strength of not less than 15 g/d, a tensile modulus of not less than 400 g/d and a total denier of not less than 600, and a weight of said fabric being not less than 130 g/m.sup.2.

A speaker diaphragm is formed by heat-pressurized molding a composite structure of fabric cloth and resin sank into the fabric cloth. The fabric cloth is woven from high strength and high elasticity polyethylene fiber which has at least tensile modulus of 4,500 kg/mm.sup.2 (500 g/d).

A water-resistant and high-strength laminate which comprises a base cloth of woven or knitted cloth obtained by weaving or knitting warps and wefts wherein at least a portion of warps and/or wefts is ultra-high-strength-polyethylene filaments and a majority of the rest is polyester fibers, at least one surface of said base cloth being laminated with a biaxially oriented polyester film through an adhesive layer.
