The present invention relates to an improved clutch booster equipped with a power piston and a control valve unit, and more particularly to a clutch booster wherein the control valve is operatively connected to a clutch pedal by mechanical link means and there is employed at least one pivot lever as an essential element of the link means, and wherein the pivot lever is pivotally connected to an output rod in such a manner that a manual force rendered upon the clutch pedal of a vehicle may be relayed in the directions of the output rod, thereby enabling the manual clutch operation even in the non-servo operation state where the clutch booster is left not supplied with any operating fluid pressure, and thereby eliminating the need for such complicated mechanical installation as a master cylinder, fluid pipings, etc. incorporated in the connection between the clutch pedal and the clutch booster.

Clutch booster

An exhaust brake incorporates a slide valve with a decreasing returning or opening effort without also having an increased working or closing effort of its valve elements incorporated therein. The brake system includes a first valve piston connected to a closing slide valve and adapted to move in reciprocating motion inside a cylinder under an operating pressure supplied thereto, and in addition, a second valve piston adapted to be driven in rectilinear motion under the operating pressure in the cylinder so as to work upon a resilient member to be deformed resiliently. When opening the slide valve, a restoring effort of the resilient member is relayed effectively to the first valve piston through a transmitting member to work in assistance with the returning motion of the valve piston.

Exhaust brake system

The present invention relates to an exhaust gas brake system of slide type for an improvement in construction that a coupler cover member has a space chamber defined in the inner circumference of a central opening thereof through which a piston rod of a pneumatic actuator extends, the space chamber communicating to the atmosphere, through which chamber exhaust gas from an engine liable to flow to the side of the actuator is guided to be discharged to the atmosphere. Also, the invention relates to such an exhaust gas brake construction that there are provided first ring means and second ring means disposed in an alternately stacked relationship one upon the other within and along the longitudinal axis of the piston rod passing opening, the first ring means having a relatively small inner circumference clearance and a relatively large outer circumference clearance, the second ring means having a relatively large inner circumference clearance and a relatively small outer circumference clearance, whereby exhaust gas is prevented from entering into the actuator and carbon is prevented from depositing onto the piston rod.

Exhaust gas brake system

An air dryer apparatus for making use of exhaust air from pneumatic operative devices as purging air, wherein the outlet opening of the air dryer apparatus and the exhaust port of the pneumatic devices are put in communication with each other by way of a purging passage, and wherein there are provided a second check valve means on the way of the purging passage means in such a manner that the forward working direction thereof may be headed towards the outlet opening of the air dryer apparatus; and exhaust valve means having an exhaust valve body formed integrally with the valve body of the purge valve, and adapted to operate in such a manner that the exhaust valve body is opened when the purge valve body is in a closed position, while the exhaust valve body is closed when the purge valve body reaches a preset degree of opening, or more specifically, so that the closing operation of the exhaust valve means at the time of purging operation may be provided upon the opening of the purge valve; and wherein the second check valve means has its upstream side connected operatively to the upstream side of the exhaust valve means.

Air dryer apparatus for use with pneumatic operative device

An air drier apparatus including a housing having an open bottom end, a drying agent storage casing disposed within the housing and a bottom end cover blocking the open bottom end of the housing is provided with a securing plate member which is positioned within the bottom portion of the drying agent storage casing and has a lock nut incorporated thereon. A single bolt member engages the lock nut and secures the bottom portion of the storage casing to the bottom end cover. A moisture sensing member is disposed in position within either the housing or bottom end cover in such manner as to monitor the moisture content of the compressed air existing in a purge chamber defined between the housing and the drying agent storage casing. A belt-like fixing member is placed around the outer circumference of the housing for mounting the air drier apparatus. The housing is provided with an annular projection or recess mating snugly with a complementary annular recess or projection on the inner circumference of the belt-like fixing member.

Air drier apparatus

A brake booster consisting of a power cylinder and a hydraulic cylinder in combination and a wear detector for detecting a predetermined extent of wear of a brake lining is disclosed, which comprises the wear detector being formed of a switch operating member provided with a spring at one end and adapted to be moved by the action of a power piston in the power cylinder, a switch to be actuated due to the movement of the switch operating member and means apparatus for exerting a pressure corresponding to the operating pressure of the power piston on the other end of the switch operating member so that the switch operating member can be moved by the action of the power piston through the spring.
