The present invention provides a functional powder capable of effectively adsorbing impurities in water treatment. The powder can be rapidly separated by use of magnetic force, and hence is excellent in workability. This functional powder comprises magnetic particles having surfaces modified with hydrophobic groups and hydrophilic groups loaded thereon. The hydrophobic groups have a function of adsorbing the impurities, and the hydrophilic groups have a function of dispersing the powder stably in water. The numbers M and N of the hydrophobic groups and the hydrophilic groups, respectively, satisfy the condition of 0.2&#x3c;M/N&#x3c;0.8, so that the adsorbability to impurities and the dispersion stability are both ensured.

Moreover, an equipment state monitoring apparatus comprises: a distribution measurement unit for measuring distribution of temperature, vibration or sound, etc. at the plant equipment surface; a distribution measurement image data positioning unit for determining position and direction of the distribution measurement unit in order to allow distribution measurement image data from the distribution measurement unit to undergo positioning so that it is in correspondence with a projection chart of a corresponding plant equipment spatial shape model; a texture-mapping unit for allowing the distribution measurement image data to undergo texture-mapping onto the surface of the spatial shape model of the plant equipment on the basis of the position and the direction of the measurement unit determined by the distribution measurement image data positioning unit; a projecting unit for describing a projection chart of the texture-mapped plant equipment spatial shape model; and an image display unit for displaying the projection chart from the projecting unit.

Method for monitoring equipment state by distribution measurement data,

A preamplifier for a wide range neutron flux monitoring system is disclosed. The preamplifier contains first to fifth amplifiers and a selection switch. The first amplifier for high frequency band amplification has a low input impedance circuit. The second amplifier for low frequency band amplification has a high input impedance circuit. Either of the first and second amplifiers can provide a path for the neutron flux level signal derived from a detector according to the frequency of the neutron flux level signal. The third amplifier (pulse amplifier) amplifies the output signal of the first amplifier and transfers the amplified signal to a pulse signal counting system. The lower frequency band Campbell signal is applied to the Campbelling system, through the second amplifier, the fourth amplifier (low frequency band Campbelling amplifier), and the selection switch. The higher frequency band Campbell signal is applied to the Campbelling system, through the first amplifier, the fifth amplifier (high frequency band Campbell amplifier), and the selection switch.

In a neutron detector of the type comprising an ionization chamber provided with anode and cathode electrodes for detecting neutron flux injected into the ionization chamber, and a cable including a central conductor connected to the anode or cathode electrode and the outer conductor connected to the cathode or anode electrode there are provided an intermediate insulated annular conductor arranged between the inner and outer conductors of the cable, and upper and lower insulated annular conductors disposed between the anode and cathode electrodes for supporting one of them. The upper and lower insulated annular conductors are electrically interconnected and the upper insulated annular conductor is connected to the intermediate annular conductor of the cable.
