An image recording apparatus includes: a laser emitting device configured to emit laser beams emitted from a plurality of laser light-emitting elements; an optical fiber array including a plurality of optical fibers provided corresponding to the laser light-emitting elements and configured to guide the laser beams emitted from the laser light-emitting elements to a recording object that relatively moves with respect to the laser emitting device, laser emitting portions of the respective optical fibers being arrayed in an array form in a predetermined direction; and an image recording unit configured to control the laser emitting device so as to irradiate the recording object which relatively moves with respect to the laser emitting device in a direction different from the predetermined direction, with laser beams via the optical fiber array, to heat the recording object and record an image.

An image recording apparatus that irradiates a recording target with laser light and records an image thereon, that includes: a laser irradiation device that has plural laser emitting elements, and irradiates the recording target with laser light emitted from the plural laser emitting elements; an irradiation condition adjusting unit that causes the laser irradiation device to emit laser light such that a part of an image dot recorded on the recording target moving relatively to the laser irradiation device overlaps an image dot adjacent thereto, and makes a laser irradiation condition for when image dots forming a boundary between a colored portion and a non-colored portion are recorded, different from a laser irradiation condition for when the other image dots are recorded; and an output control unit that controls the irradiation with the laser light, based on the laser irradiation condition adjusted by the irradiation condition adjusting unit.

An image recording apparatus includes a plurality of laser emission parts disposed side by side in a predetermined direction for emitting laser light; an optical system configured to collect a plurality of beams of laser light emitted by the laser emission parts onto the recording target moving relative to the laser emission parts in a direction crossing the predetermined direction; and an output control unit configured to perform control such that energy of laser light emitted from an outermost end laser emission part of the laser emission parts is greater than energy of laser light emitted from a center laser emission part, the outermost end laser emission part emitting laser light to be transmitted through vicinity of an end portion of the optical system, the center laser emission part emitting laser light to be transmitted through a portion other than vicinity of the end portion of the optical system.

A recording method including: emitting laser light from an optical fiber array to record an image formed of writing units with moving a recording target and the optical fiber array relatively using a recording device including a plurality of laser light-emitting elements and an emitting unit including the optical fiber array, in which a plurality of optical fibers configured to guide laser light emitted from the laser light-emitting elements are aligned, wherein a maximum length of the writing unit along a sub-scanning direction is controlled with set values of: a duty ratio and a cycle of a pulse signal input to the emitting unit; recording energy applied to the recording target; and a spot diameter of the laser light, to record with overlapping an edge of the writing unit with an edge of the adjacent writing unit in the sub-scanning direction.

A thermosensitive recording material including a support, a thermosensitive recording layer composed mainly of a leuco dye and a developer, provided on one surface of the support, and a back layer provided on the other surface of the support, wherein the back layer contains an isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer ammonium salt, and at least one of an aziridine compound, and a cross-linked product of the isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer ammonium salt and the aziridine compound.

Thermosensitive recording material

To provide a thermosensitive recording material that is superior in uniformity, makes it possible to obtain images with high glossiness and has less curl, in which a synthetic paper having a multilayer structure serves as a support. Specifically, there is a thermosensitive recording material including: a support, and a thermosensitive recording layer containing a leuco dye and a color developer on the support, wherein the support is a synthetic paper having a multilayer structure, and an inorganic pigment is contained only in a base layer of the synthetic paper; also, two layers which are formed solely of polypropylene and which contain no inorganic pigment are laid one on top of the other on the base layer containing an inorganic pigment; further, all layers are biaxially stretched.

Thermosensitive recording material and recording method using the same

A thermosensitive recording material has a support, a thermosensitive recording layer formed thereon, containing an electron-donating coloring compound, an electron-accepting compound a binder resin, and a protective layer formed on the thermosensitive recording layer, which contains an ultraviolet-curing resin and a copolymer resin containing a silicone component as a copolymerizing component.

A method of reversible selective manifestation of different states of a functional element is disclosed. The functional element is composed of at least two compounds and is capable of alternatively assuming (a) a first state in which the two compounds interact to form a regular aggregate structure, or (b) a second state in which the two compounds do not interact, and at least one of the two compounds is in an aggregate or crystallized state. The respective conditions for attaining one of the two states can be reversibly and extremely speedily controlled, for instance, by use of a heat application device.

A thermal recording medium includes a thermal recording layer, which is provided on a transparent substrate, consisting essentially of an electron-donating chromophoric compound, an electron-accepting compound and a binder resin, an over layer, whose dynamic friction coefficient of the surface does not exceed 0.1, includes a resin having substantially the same refractive index as the thermal recording layer is further provided.

A reversible thermosensitive coloring composition is composed of (i) an electron-donor coloring compound and (ii) an electron-acceptor compound selected from the group consisting of an organic phosphoric acid compound, an aliphatic carboxylic acid, and a phenolic compound, each having a straight chain or branched chain alkyl group or alkyenyl group having 12 or more carbon atoms, the electron-donor coloring compound and the electron-acceptor compound being capable of reacting to induce color formation in the reversible thermosensitive coloring composition at the eutectic temperature thereof. The electron-donor coloring compound and the electron-acceptor compound, when fused and colored in a mixed state, with application of heat thereto, followed by rapidly cooling the fused mixture, exhibit an exothermic peak in a temperature elevation process in a differential scanning calorific analysis or in a differential thermal analysis. A recording medium and display medium using the above reversible thermosensitive coloring composition, a recording method of using the recording medium, a display method of using the display medium, a display method of using the display medium, and a display apparatus using the display medium are disclosed.
