A flame retardant polycarbonate resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin (A), 0.01 to 3 parts by weight of a silicone compound (B) having a branched chain structure and organic functional groups, wherein said organic functional groups comprise (I) aromatic groups or (ii) aromatic groups and hydrocarbon groups (excluding aromatic groups), 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of a phosphazene compound (C), 0.01 to 2 parts by weight of an organometallic salt (D) and 0.01 to 2 parts by weight of a fiber-forming type fluorine-containing polymer (E). 5 to 25 parts byweight of titanium oxide (F) and 0.05 to 2 parts by weight of a poly(organo hydrogen sioxane) (G), per 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin (A), may be further added. Since the flame retardant polycarbonate resin composition of the present invention does not contain a halogen type flame retarding agent comprising chlorine compounds, bromine compounds and the like, no as derived from a halogen type flame retarding agent are generated when burned. Furthermore, the composition has a degree of flame retardance. a light reflectivity, and an excellent impact resistance, a heat resistance, a light resistance and can be used for various internal and external uses associated with electrical, electronic and OA applications.

Flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition

This invention is a flame resistant polycarbonate resin composition characterized by blending 0.01-2 weight parts of a silicone compound (B)) wherein a main chain has a branch structure and having an aromatic group in an organic substituent, 0.01-2 weight parts of an alkali metal salt of an aromatic sulfonic acid (C) represented by the following general formula 1 (hereafter, referred to as general formula 1), and 0.05-5 weight parts of a fiber-forming fluorine-containing polymer (D), relative to 100 parts of a polycarbonate resin (A): General formula 1: A &mdash;R&mdash;(SO M) (wherein, R is a phenyl group, naphthyl group, or a phenyl group or naphthyl group substituted by A, where A is at least one type of substituent chosen from a group comprising a halogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, vinyl group, alkoxy group, amino group, methyl ester group and ethyl ester group, and M is an alkali metal. Also, when R is phenyl, m and n are respectively the integers 0-5 and 1-2 (m&plus;n&lE;6), and when R is naphthyl, m and n are respectively the integers 0-7 and 1-2 (m&plus;n&lE;8). The polycarbonate resin composition of this invention possesses superior flame resistance without losing shock resistance and moldability, and as it does not contain halogen fire retardants manufactured from chlorine and bromine compounds, there is no concern about generation of gases containing halogen from the fire retardant during combustion.

Fire-resistant polycarbonate resin composition

A flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin (A), about 0.01 to about 8 parts by weight of a silicone compound (B) and 0.03 to 5 parts by weight of a metal salt of an aromatic sulfur compound (C) or about 0.01 to about 5 parts by weight of a metal salt of a perfluoroalkanesulfonic acid (D), or further containing about 0.05 to about 5 parts by weight of a fiber-forming fluoropolymer (E), wherein the backbone structure of said silicone compound (B) is branched and said silicone compound (B) comprises organic groups that contain aromatic groups. The flame-retardant polycarbonate resin compositions according to the present invention attain great flame retardance while retaining good impact resistance and moldability unimpaired. They also give outstanding performance from the standpoint of environmental protection because, free from a flame retardant of chlorine, bromine compound or the like, they have no danger of evolving gases that contain any retardant-derived halogen during combustion.

A thermoplastic resin composition comprising 1 to 300 parts by weight of a copolymer (A) which is obtainable by polymerizing 0.1 to 400 parts by weight of an unsaturated epoxy monomer and 0 to 1,000 parts by weight of other copolymerizable monomer in the presence of 100 parts by weight of an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin base rubber, and 100 parts by weight of a mixture comprising 90 to 10% by weight of a polycarbonate resin (B) and 10 to 90% by weight of a saturated polyester (C), which can give a molded article having improved balance among heat resistance, chemical resistance, impact resistance and a shrinkage factor; falling ball impact resistance; weld strength; and appearance.

Thermoplastic resin composition comprising a polyester, a polycarbonate

A thermoplastic resin composition having excellent and well balanced physical properites such as chemical resistance, drop weight impact resistance and thermal stability which comprises (A) a styrenic polymer and (B) a ternary polymer comprising 50 to 98.5% by weight of an olefin, 0.5 to 10% by weight of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride and 1 to 40% by weight of an unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester, the weight proportion of the styrenic polymer (A) and the ternary polymer (B) being 100:0.5-200.
