Display method and system for radio receiver

A selectively called radio receiver is arranged by a receiving unit for receiving a radio selection signal, an operation unit for accepting an operation, a storage unit for storing a control program, and a processing unit for processing the reception information derived from the receiving unit and the operation information outputted from the operation unit in accordance with the control program stored in the storage unit. This selectively called radio receiver is further arranged by a notifying unit for producing notification information based on the processing information outputted from the processing unit, and a monitoring unit for monitoring an access condition by the processing unit to the storage unit. Even when the processing unit is erroneously operated, increasing of power consumption can be suppressed, and the reliability of this selectively called radio receiver can be improved.

Selectively called radio receiver and controlling method thereof

A radio pager capable of displaying a message implemented as a fixed sentence includes a radio section for receiving and demodulating a paging signal. A first storage stores a plurality of address numbers allocated to the pager, and a comparing section compares an address number included in the demodulated paging signal with each of the address numbers stored in the first storage, and outputs, if the address number included in the demodulated paging signal is identical with any of the address numbers stored in the first storage, the address number included in the demodulated paging signal as an address number assigned to the pager while writing message data following the address number in a message memory. A second storage stores a plurality of tables each listing a particular kind of fixed sentences. A third storage stores correspondence between the address numbers allocated to the pager and the tables. A message processing section selects, based on the stored correspondence, one of the tables corresponding to the address number assigned to the pager, and selects one of the fixed sentences corresponding to the message data written to the message memory on the basis of stored correspondence. A display section displays the fixed sentence selected.

Radio pager capable of displaying fixed sentences

A radio selective calling receiver which can display a message sent from a transmission site and can be remotely controlled to set a reception inhibition status and a reception permission status. A plurality of selective calling numbers are assigned to the selective calling receiver, and at least one of the assigned selective calling numbers is used for remote control. The selective calling receiver has a memory for storing information relative to each of the assigned selective calling numbers, a decoder for determining whether a received selective calling number agrees with either one of the assigned selective calling numbers, and a control unit for decoding a message associated with the received selective calling number and updating the information stored within the memory based on the decoded message if the received selective calling number is the assigned selective calling number for remote control.
