A gesture recognition apparatus includes: first and second one-dimensional sensor means for detecting movement corresponding to a motion of an object in a one-dimensional direction along one detection axis and outputting a signal corresponding to the detected movement; a normalization processing means for executing processing of normalization of first and second signals outputted from the first and second one-dimensional sensor means; a phase plane mapping processing means for forming a signal track corresponding to the first and second signals in time series by plotting coordinates on a phase plane using x- and y-coordinate values based on the normalized first and second signals; a correlation coefficient calculation means for calculating a correlation coefficient with respect to the first and second signals using coordinate values forming the signal track; and a motion determination means for determining whether the detected movement is a motion in the first or second direction based on the value of the correlation coefficient.

Disclosed herein is an information processing system including: a first information processing apparatus for transmitting a content including video and audio signals; and a second information processing apparatus for receiving the content. The first apparatus includes: a first key generator configured to generate a first key; a video encryptor configured to encrypt the video signal with the first key; an audio encryptor configured to encrypt the audio signal with the first key; and a transmitter configured to transmit the content including the encrypted video and audio signals. The second apparatus includes: a receiver configured to receive the content; a second key generator configured to generate a second key corresponding to the first key; a video decryptor configured to decrypt the encrypted video signal with the second key; and an audio decryptor configured to decrypt the encrypted audio signal with the second key.

This invention relates to a repeater of a serial digital transmission system. The repeater comprises NRZI/NRZ converter, descrambler, scrambler and NRZ/NRZI converter. Data sent on a coaxial cable is input to a cable equalizer for attenuation characteristic compensation. The NRZI/NRZ converter receives the reception data through D-type flip-flop. Further, the NRZI/NRZ converter converts the reception data from NRZI code to NRZ code. The descrambler descrambles the data obtained by subjecting the reception data to a scrambling process represented by a generating polynomial. The scrambler scrambles the descrambled data output from the descrambler according to a scrambling process represented by the generating polynomial. The NRZ/NRZI converter converts the scrambled data output from the scrambler from NRZ code to NRZI code. A cable driver outputs the data onto the coaxial cable.
