A height gauge has a touch signal probe provided on a slider vertically movably supported on a support for the purpose of measuring the dimensions or the like of an object by bringing the probe into contact with the object. A rack is formed on the support, and a driving shaft is disposed on the slider, the driving shaft having a pinion engaged with the rack. To the driving shaft are secured a pulley to which the turning force from a motor is transmitted and a control wheel for manually rotating the driving shaft. A clutch member is interposed between the pulley and the control wheel. When the clutch member is engaged with the pulley, the slider is automatically moved up and down, while when the clutch member is engaged with the control wheel, the slider can be manually moved up and down. The height gauge further includes a control circuit which stops the drive of the motor when the touch signal probe generates a touch signal and which holds the indication of a measured value being displayed at that time.

A displacement measuring instrument wherein a cam (9) is engaged with a movable member such as a spindle (5), a rectilinear movement of the spindle (5) is converted into a rotary motion of the cam (9), the rotary motion of this cam (9) is enlarged and transmitted to a follower through a rotator (20) rotatable in synchronism with the cam (9), an indicating device (32) is driven due to rotation of the follower (21) for indicating a displacement value of the spindle (5). Component parts are small in number and construction is simplified.

Displacement measuring instrument

A dial gauge wherein a cam (14) engaged with a spindle (16) and rotatable in accordance with an axial displacement value of the spindle (16) is provided and an indicating mechanism (13, 113) is driven by a rotation of the cam (14) to indicate a measured value. This dial gauge is simplified in construction and easy in assembling without requiring to use high precision-finish parts such as a rack portion, pinion and the like.

A spindle driving mechanism includes a spiral groove having a comparatively large pitch for transferring a spindle and an engageable portion to be engaged with this spiral groove. The spindle is provided with a rotation preventing device, and an indicator is driven by an axial movement of the spindle.

An inner diameter measuring instrument wherein the measuring pressure of measuring elements is adjustable from outside and the measuring elements can be retracted by a pair of levers. A spring is confined between a movable member secured to a spindle and an abutting member formed on the outer surface thereof with a tapered surface, and a biasing force of this spring is adjustable by the movement of the movable member due to rotation of a control member mounted to the main body of the measuring instrument. The abutting member is upwardly moved by a pair of levers each provided thereon with a pusher member penetrating through the main body for pushing the abutting member, so that the measuring elements biased in the radial directions of the spindle can be retracted.

A micrometer wherein a rotary knob and a pinion are threadably coupled to each other, further, a resilient member for functioning as a constant pressure is interposed between the rotary knob and the pinion, and, when the rotary knob is rotated by a value of distortion of the resilient member after a spindle having a rack meshed with the pinion is abutted against a workpiece to be measured and stopped, the rotary knob is moved in a direction of the rotary shaft thereof, whereby a portion of the rotary knob is abutted against a main frame, thereby acting as a locking function.

A micrometer comprising a letter `U` shaped frame, an anvil fixed on one end of said frame and directed to the other end thereof and a spindle supported on said frame in a manner to be axially movable from the other end at one end and, during measuring, the forward end thereof comes into abutting contact with an article being measured, a control knob connected to said spindle and projected outwardly from the frame, a rack formed on the spindle in the axial direction thereof and dial indicator driven by the spindle, when the spindle axially moves, through pinions being meshed with the rack, the spindle being moved by reciprocating operation of the control knob, which is operated by one hand gripping the micrometer, and a value of movement of the spindle being read by means of the dial indicator.

An inside dimension measuring gauge is disclosed having a spindle within a tubular body which actuates a plurality of contact pistons, the measurement being indicated by sensing the displacement of the spindle. A pair of opposed levers pivotally mounted to the tubular body are provided for axially displacing the spindle with respect to the tubular body upon manual application of a compressive force on the pair of levers. The pair of levers are connected to the axial spindle by a pair of movable links and are further provided with screws for regulating the permitted motion of the levers with respect to the tubular body.
