An improvement in a double Cardan universal joint having a pair of spiders connected by a ring-shaped coupling member, a pair of yoke members angularly movably connected with each other by the spiders, a centering assembly for aligning the yoke members with each other and defining a reservoir for grease within a bridge forming a part of one of the yoke members and a breather hole formed in the bridge for making the reservoir communicate with the atmosphere. The improvement comprises a valve of elastic material inserted in the breather hole and capable of elastically blockading the communication of the reservoir with the atmosphere when internal pressure of the reservoir is below a predetermined amount and being elastically deformed to make the reservoir communicate with the atmosphere when the internal pressure reaches or exceeds the predetermined amount.

Double cardan universal joint

A device for cooling a frictional clutch for an automobile with respect to a clutch housing provided between a cylinder block and a transmission case is herein disclosed. The device comprises passages respectively formed in surfaces of the clutch housing contacting the end plate and the transmission case for introducing and discharging cooling air into and from the clutch housing. Each of the passages has an opening toward the interior of the clutch housing and another opening toward the exterior of the clutch housing. The openings are deviated from each other with respect to the circumferential direction of the clutch housing.

Device for cooling a frictional clutch for an automobile

An oil pressure control system for an automatic transmission system which includes a fluid torque converter, a transmission gear and friction engaging means adapted to be selectively supplied with line pressure for establishing a selected transmission engagement in said transmission gear, said friction engaging means being provided with a buffering accumulator which buffers its operating pressure, said accumulator comprising a fluid displacing element which is supplied with a torque converter pressure as a back pressure.
