A multispindle-head machine tool has a column, a plurality of multispindle heads each having a plurality of tools and an engaging member and an annular feed passageway supporting the multispindle heads for circulatory movement therealong. The annular feed passageway includes a pair of upper and lower fixed guide members supported on the column, and a movable guide member movable back and forth horizontally for interconnecting ends of the upper and lower fixed guide members near a machining position. A rotary actuator is provided together with a feed mechanism disposed around the annular feed passageway and movable to circulate along the annular feed passageway by the rotary actuator for moving the multispindle heads along the annular feed passageway. An actuator unit is mounted on the column in association with the movable guide member for positioning one of the multispindle heads which is held on the movable guide member in the machining position, and rotating the tools of one of the multispindle heads. A jig table is mounted on a side of the column and horizontally movable back and forth. The jig table includes an attachment jig for supporting a workpiece to be machined by the tools of one of the multispindle heads.

Multispindle-head machine tool

A drilling machine tool is disclosed having a machine tool body with a movable frame which is movable in the three axial directions X, Y and Z, of a rectangular coordinate system. The tool includes a working head provided on said movable frame, said head having at least one drilling spindle thereon, wherein said X direction is the direction in which said movable frame advances to and retreats from a workpiece at the general level of the workpiece, said Y direction is perpendicular to the X direction and said Z direction is generally up and down and is perpendicular to both said X and Y directions; X, Y and Z shafts corresponding to X, Y and Z directions, respectively, each shaft operatively connected with said movable frame for moving said frame in the X, Y and Z directions; a plurality of driving sources, one each corresponding with each of said shafts and operatively connected thereto for driving said shafts; and wherein said frame is movable such that said spindle is operable when inclined with respect to the X axis as well as when said spindle is parallel to the X axis, and said frame is driven along the axial centerline of said spindle in response to said driving sources.

A replaceable gang head machine tool including a machine base, a working unit thereon, plural gang heads on the periphery of the working unit, and an index table on the upper side of the working unit, further including a supporting base positioned above the machine tool, a stock apparatus mounted on the supporting base comprising a center support, plural gang heads on the periphery of the center support, and an index table on the upper side thereof; and a replacing apparatus positioned away from the machine tool and the stock apparatus extending between the machine tool and the stock apparatus for effecting a replacement between the gang heads on the machine tool and the gang heads on the stock apparatus.
