A method may include receiving a plurality of signals from a sensor deployed in a subterranean formation and performing a step-rate analysis for the subterranean formation using the plurality of signals. An ideal volumetric flow rate and pressure of water injected into the subterranean formation by a power water injector may be determined from the step-rate analysis. A cumulative volume and pressure of water injected into the subterranean formation may be determined continuously to obtain a plurality of cumulative injected water and pressure data points. A Hall plot analysis may be performed from the plurality of cumulative injected water and pressure data points. A mitigation action may be performed when a deviation from steady state within the Hall plot analysis is beyond a constant factor, wherein the mitigation action reduces the deviation from steady state.

Methods of monitoring water injection in subterranean formations

Systems and methods include a method for downhole leak detection and prediction in water injection wells. Bulk well operation information for one or more wells is accessed from a database. Real-time pressure and water rate information is received from surface and downhole gauges during operation of a water injection well. Engineered prediction-ready data is generated using the real-time pressure and water rate information by translating the bulk well operation information. Early signs of leakage at sub-surfaces of the water injection well are determined using the engineered prediction-ready data and wellbore dynamics of the water injection well. Information associated the early signs of leakage is provided based on the determining and for presentation to one or more users.

Automated downhole leak detection and prediction in water injection wells

A well bridge plug assembly includes a sub body to be positioned in a well, the sub body including an internal fluid pathway extending from a downhole end of the sub body to an uphole end of the sub body. The sub body flows well fluid through the internal fluid pathway in an uphole direction from the downhole end toward the uphole end. A plug nose positioned at the downhole end of the sub body includes an aperture fluidly connected to the internal fluid pathway of the sub body. A flapper element in the internal fluid pathway moves between an open position and a closed position to selectively seal the internal fluid pathway from fluid flow, and a sealing element circumscribing a portion of the sub body selectively seals against a wall of a wellbore.

Downhole crossflow containment tool

A first wellhead fluid sample is collected from a petroleum well. Multiple geochemical water analysis (GWA) tests are preformed to form GWA water analysis data. The GWA tests determine physical properties of, and one or more geochemical water element (GWE) concentration values associated with, the first wellhead fluid sample. Correlation data associated with the GWA water analysis data is determined. A second wellhead fluid sample is collected from the petroleum well and only a water conductivity analysis is performed on the second wellhead fluid sample to determine water conductivity data.
