A section of casing within a wellbore is milled. After milling the section of the wellbore, the section of the wellbore is underreamed through to a next layer of casing. A setting fluid is squeezed into the section. The setting fluid penetrates micro-channels exposed by the milling and underreaming A scab liner is installed over the section. The scab liner is secured within the wellbore.

Repairing wellbores with fluid movement behind casing

A wellbore tool assembly to release stuck pipe includes a tubular that includes an outer wall, an inner wall and an annular compartment defined between the outer wall and the inner wall. A quantity of acid is carried within the annular compartment of the tubular. Multiple ports are formed in the tubular. Each port fluidically connects an inner volume of the tubular with a volume outside the tubular through the annular compartment. The assembly includes a ball seat disposed within the tubular. The ball seat is configured to receive a ball dropped into the tubular. The multiple ports are configured to switch between an open position and a closed position. When in the open position, the multiple ports permit flow of the acid from the annular compartment to the formation. When in the closed position, the multiple ports prevent fluid flow from the annular compartment to the formation.

A retrievable bridge plug includes a housing that includes a slickline connector; a plurality of wheels coupled to the housing, each wheel adjustable from a retracted position within the housing to an extended position from the housing; a motor assembly within the housing and driveably coupled to the plurality of wheels; a seal coupled to the housing; and a controller configured to operate the motor assembly to move the housing through a wellbore on the plurality of wheels in the extended position in response to a particular force on the housing; and activate the seal to seal the wellbore from fluid circulation there through.

Apparatus, systems, and methods for sealing a wellbore

Methods and systems for controlling fluids in a wellbore are described. The methods and systems include running a production string into the wellbore, the production string includes production tubing and completion components with a first packer with a first control line and a backup packer with a second control line; setting the first packer in the wellbore in response to a signal on the first control line; producing hydrocarbons from the wellbore with the first packer set and the backup packer unset; and setting the backup packer in the wellbore in response to a signal on the second control line.

Controlling fluids in a wellbore using a backup packer

A method of securing a wellbore experiencing upward crossflow includes determining a depth of a leak in a first wellbore casing tubular and identifying a second wellbore casing tubular downhole of the leak depth. From a surface, a well control tool is incrementally lowered into the wellbore until a lower tool string of the well control tool is positioned in mating contact with an end receptacle of the second wellbore casing tubular. The lower tool string is exposed to the upward crossflow during lowering of the well control tool. A unidirectional valve preinstalled inside the lower tool string inhibits movement of the upward crossflow into an upper tool string of the well control tool while permitting kill fluid pumped into the upper tool string from the surface to flow into the wellbore. The unidirectional valve is retrieved to allow additional operations in the wellbore through the lower tool string.

Method of securing a well with shallow leak in upward cross flow

A wellbore tool includes a rotatable elongate pipe that includes a first elongate portion extending along a longitudinal axis of the elongate pipe. A first bending portion with a first end attaches to a downhole end of the first elongate portion. The first bending portion deviates from a longitudinal axis of the first elongate portion in a first direction. A second bending portion has a first end attached to a second end of the first bending portion. The second bending portion is positioned downhole of the first bending portion. The second bending portion deviates towards the longitudinal axis in a second direction different from the first direction. The first bending portion and the second bending are eccentric relative to the first elongate portion. The wellbore tool is rotated a set amount and stabbed in a downhole direction until the wellbore tool enters the parted casing.

Wellbore parted casing access tool

One example of a wellbore control tool and a method of use is described. A leak is detected in a cased wellbore comprising a multiple telescoping casing sections. A fluid flows in an uphole direction through the cased wellbore. A flow of the fluid in the uphole direction results in a first force in the uphole direction. The leak is in a first telescoping casing section. An open downhole end of a wellbore tool having a weight at least equal to a second force greater than the first force on an uphole end of a second telescoping casing section that is downhole from a location of the leak in the first telescoping casing section is seated. The open downhole end of the wellbore tool provides metal to metal contact against the uphole end of the second telescoping casing section and restricts fluid flow into the leak.
