A fuel selector for use with a dual fuel generator includes a selector plate, a first fuel valve assembly positioned adjacent the selector plate and actuatable between an ON position and an OFF position to selectively control a first fuel flow to an engine of the dual fuel generator, and a second fuel valve assembly positioned adjacent the selector plate and actuatable between an ON position and an OFF position to selectively control a second fuel flow to the engine of the dual fuel generator. A selector switch coupled to the selector plate is linearly translatable from a first position to a second position, so as to enable positioning of only one of the first fuel valve assembly and the second fuel valve assembly in the ON position at a given time, such that the first and second fuel valve assemblies cannot be in the ON position concurrently.

A generator includes a multi-chamber generator enclosure, an engine mounted within the multi-chamber generator enclosure, and an alternator driven by the engine and positioned within at least one chamber of the multi-chamber generator enclosure. The generator also includes an exhaust system operatively coupled to the engine and extending from the engine through at least the at least one chamber of the multi-chamber generator enclosure having the alternator therein, and a heat shield substantially surrounding the exhaust system in the at least one chamber of the multi-chamber enclosure generator containing the alternator.

An exhaust pipe mounted heat duct in an electrical generator includes an exhaust pipe coupleable to an internal combustion engine of the electrical generator to receive exhaust therefrom, the exhaust pipe having a first support member and a second support member extending outwards from the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe mounted heat duct also includes a heat duct assembly comprising a first component and a second component, the first component mounted to the first support member and a second component mounted to the second support member, the first component coupled to the second component to substantially surround the exhaust pipe.

An enclosure for a standby generator includes a frame having a base for supporting an engine and an alternator driven by the engine, a back wall extending generally vertically from the base, and first and second sidewalls extending generally vertically from the base and connected to the back wall at opposite ends of the enclosure, the first and second sidewall each having a top edge, generally sloping downward from the back wall forward. The enclosure also includes first and second doors, each respectively attached to the first and second sidewalls of the frame such that each pivots about the top edge of the first and second sidewalls.
