The present disclosure relates to metal alloys for biosensors. An electrode is made from ruthenium metal or a ruthenium-based alloy. The resulting electrode has physical and electrical property advantages when compared with existing pure metal electrodes.

Ruthenium alloys for biosensors

The present disclosure relates to methods of creating a biosensor. A palladium film is deposited onto a surface of a substrate. The palladium film is then treated with an air plasma to stabilize the palladium and reduce or eliminate its catalytic activity. The biosensor is created from the treated palladium film and the substrate.

Methods for stabilizing palladium films

The present disclosure relates to metal alloys for biosensors. An electrode is made from the metal alloy, which more specifically can be a nickel-based alloy. The alloy provides physical and electrical property advantages when compared with existing pure metal electrodes.

Nickel alloys for biosensors

Optical filter elements each include a parallelogram-shaped substrate with parallel light entrance and light exit surfaces and parallel slanted sidewalls slanted at an angle, and an interference filter disposed on one or both of the light entrance surface and the light exit surface. The optical filter elements are bonded together at the slanted sidewalls to form the optical filter array. Light is filtered by illuminating the optical filter array at an angle &#x3b8; equal to or corresponding to the angle of the slanted sidewalls. In some embodiments the angle of the slanted sidewalls corresponds to the angle-of-incidence &#x3b8; by Snell's law.

Filter array with reduced stray light

The present disclosure relates to multilayer constructs for producing metabolite strips. The multilayer constructs include a substrate layer having a top surface and a bottom surface, a thin film metal conductor layer formed on the top surface of the substrate layer and configured to act as an electrode, and a Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) protective layer deposited on top of the metal conductor layer. The metabolic strips can be used, along with various measuring devices, for determining the presence of certain analytes in a specimen and for various like applications.

Multilayer constructs for metabolite strips providing inert surface and mechanical advantage

The present disclosure relates to processes and apparatuses for optimizing the single pass production of multilayer constructs including metal/transparent conducting oxide (TCO) multilayers. Articles created from such methods are also disclosed. In particular, multilayer constructs are used as an electrochemical test strip, such as a biosensor, and will be described with particular reference thereto.
