A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions for distributing tasks between a handheld intermediary processing device (HIPD) and communicatively coupled devices is disclosed. The instructions cause one or more processors to, while a HIPD and a head-wearable device are communicatively coupled and share operational data for performing one or more computational tasks, identify one or more back-end tasks and one or more front-end tasks associated with performing the one or more computational tasks. The instructions further cause performance of the one or more back-end tasks at the HIPD including updating the operational data to create updated operational data. The instructions further cause performance of the one or more front-end tasks at the head-wearable device using the updated operational data such that a representation based on the one or more computational tasks is presented to the user by the head-wearable device.

Systems and methods for data asset acquisition and obfuscation can be helpful for retrieving augmented reality rendering data assets from third parties. The sending of a software development kit and receiving back data assets can ensure the data assets are compatible with the augmented reality rendering experience in the user interface. The data acquisition system with obfuscation can also ensure the code generated by third parties is stripped of semantics and has reduced readability.

Computing platform for facilitating augmented reality experiences with third party assets

A customized GUI of a first electronic document editing application of a plurality of electronic document editing applications is stored at a cloud storage system in association with an identifier of a third party platform. The customized GUI is to be embedded into a GUI of the third party platform. A script is creating, based on the customized GUI, to generate a preloaded version of the customized GUI to preload for presentation at a user device. The script is transmitted to the third party platform.

A method receives a request of a first user of the third party platform to customize a GUI of a first electronic document editing application. The method provides the requested GUI. The method receives input of the first user for one or more GUI components associated with features of the first electronic document editing application. The method customizes the GUI of the first electronic document editing application based on the received input of the first user. The method stores the customized GUI. The method receives an indication of a request of a second user of the third party platform to manipulate an electronic document of the first electronic document type. The method provides the customized GUI of the first electronic document editing application.

A system and method for rendering text data in web applications is provided that eliminates redundant processing. Constant resources are pre-computed and work is offloaded from the central processing unit to the graphics processing unit. This is generally accomplished by pre-computing before any rendering. A generic index vertex buffer object is created, and for each font, a glyph texture object and glyph position texture object are created. A frame including text is then rendered in which a glyph string texture object is created. For each character, a glyph index-to-texture and glyph offset to-texture is appended. A glyph texture, glyph position texture and glyph string texture are then bound, and the generic index vertex buffer object using a custom vertex shader is rendered.
