The present disclosure relates to a telecommunications jack including a housing having a port for receiving a plug. The jack also includes a plurality of contact springs adapted to make electrical contact with the plug when the plug is inserted into the port of the housing, and a plurality of wire termination contacts for terminating wires to the jack. The jack further includes a circuit board that electrically connects the contact springs to the wire termination contacts. The circuit board includes a multi-zone crosstalk compensation arrangement for reducing crosstalk at the jack.

A test fixture and method of its use are disclosed. The test fixture includes a test fixture frame including a first test fixture mount having a first test head mounted thereon, the first test head slidable along a first axis, and a second test fixture mount having a second test head mounted thereon that is slidable along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The test fixture further includes a first test plate holder mounted to the first test head and including a clamping mechanism, as well as a probe mounting plate mounted to the first test plate holder and retained by the clamping mechanism and including a plurality of radially-disposed probe receptacles. The test fixture includes a plurality of probe assemblies received in corresponding probe receptacles, each including a probe extending at least partially through the probe mounting plate, each electrically connecting to a design under test.

Balunless test fixture

A test station and method of testing a design under test are disclosed. One method includes applying a first test frequency signal to a reference path to determine a first known attenuation level, and applying the first test frequency signal to a design under test to determine a first tested attenuation level of the design under test at the first test frequency. The method also includes applying a second test frequency signal to the reference path to determine a second known attenuation level, and applying the second test frequency signal to the design under test to determine a second tested attenuation level of the design under test at the second test frequency. The method includes determining whether the design under test is faulty based on the first tested attenuation level and the second tested attenuation level.

Automated high frequency test station

A connector and method of crosstalk compensation within a connector is disclosed. The method includes determining an uncompensated crosstalk, including an uncompensated capacitive crosstalk and an uncompensated inductive crosstalk, of a wired pair in a connector. The uncompensated crosstalk includes common mode and differential mode crosstalk. The method includes applying at least one inductive element to the wired pair, where the at least one inductive element is configured and arranged to provide balanced compensation for the inductive crosstalk caused by the one or more pairs. The method further includes applying at least one capacitive element to the wired pair, where the at least one capacitive element is configured and arranged to provide balanced compensation for the capacitive crosstalk caused by the one or more wired pairs.

Connecting hardware with multi-stage inductive and capacitive crosstalk compensation

An optical fiber terminating assembly has an outer body (), a first member () locatable in the outer body () and which carries a protruding length of optical fiber () which locates an alignment structure () and a housing () locatable in alignment with the first member (). The housing () has an access opening for receiving an optical fiber () to be terminated so that the fiber can be located in the alignment structure in abutment with the optical fiber length (). The housing has a compartment () which receives a heat responsive adhesive element (), a saddle () and a resistor (). When a current is passed through the resistor, the heat generated is transmitted by the saddle to the adhesive which melts and flows around the optical fiber () to secure it in position in abutment with the optical fiber length ().

Assembly and method for use in terminating an optical fiber or fibers

Methods and systems for compensating for crosstalk in a telecommunications jack are disclosed. One method includes manufacturing a circuit board having a zone of crosstalk compensation between a first wire pair and a second wire pair, the zone of crosstalk compensation including a capacitive coupling connected between the first wire pair and the second wire pair and a second capacitive coupling selectively connectable in parallel with the capacitive coupling. The method further includes determining a crosstalk value generated by the jack including the manufactured circuit board. The method also includes, upon determining that the crosstalk value is outside of a crosstalk pass band, adjusting the zone of crosstalk compensation by altering an electrical connection between the second capacitive coupling and the capacitive coupling after the circuit board has been manufactured.
