A profile for a tool implementing a unified modeling language (UML) is described. The profile extends the UML to include decision management functionality. The profile includes stereotypes and customizations which generate question elements, decision elements, alternative elements, and the like. The association between the elements permits a design engineer to review previous decisions and the rationale behind the decisions. In particular, the one of alternative elements is associated with decision element by selected alternative relationship.

UML decision management capability

A system for displaying a stereo image is disclosed. The system includes a stereoscopic head up display (HUD) that includes a combiner and a display configured to display a stereo image. The system further includes either a head tracking sensor or an eye tracking sensor configured to generate a tracking dataset. The system further includes a processor and a memory with instructions that cause the processor to receive the tracking dataset, generate a distortion map based on the tracking dataset and a distortion function, receive a media stereo image, generate a stereo signal based on the distortion map and the media stereo image, and transmit the stereo signal to the display. The system is capable of conveying an image to an operator in the absence of a relay lens.

Low cost HUD using stereo and head tracking

An image capture device located within an eyebox of a vehicle obtains an image of a virtual image presented on a display of the vehicle. The display includes a conformal display having real-world features associated with the virtual symbology of the virtual image. The image of the virtual image is used to compare pixels of the features to determine whether an error is associated with the presentation of the virtual image on the display. A correction factor may be determined based on the comparison. The correction factor is used to reconfigure the presentation and more accurately display the virtual symbology.

Evaluating display accuracy

A display system includes a display and a computer. The computer is configured to cause the display provide a visual cue in a far or mid peripheral vision area of the display with respect to a user's forward looking view through the display. The display system can be a head up display (HUD) on a worn display for use in aircraft or other applications.

A present novel and non-trivial system, device, and method for generating object symbology are disclosed. A system may be comprised one or more aircraft systems and a cockpit display system comprised of a system configuration file, a plurality of definition files, and a windows generator ('WG'). The WG may be configured to perform initialization and run-time operations. The initialization operation may be comprised of retrieving a system configuration file; retrieving a first definition file comprised of a first layer; and retrieving one or more second definition files comprised of one or more second layers. The run-time operation may be comprised of receiving a first-layer widget data set; receiving one or more second-layer widget data sets; determining each screen array cell; and generating a pixel data set in response to the determination.

Object symbology generating system, device, and method

A present novel and non-trivial system, device, and method for generating object symbology are disclosed. A system may be comprised one or more aircraft systems and a cockpit display system comprised of a system configuration file, a plurality of definition files, and a windows generator ('WG'). The WG may be configured to perform initialization and run-time operations. The initialization operation may be comprised of retrieving a system configuration file; retrieving a first definition file comprised of a first layer; and retrieving one or more second definition files comprised of one or more second layers. The run-time operation may be comprised of receiving a first-layer widget data set; receiving one or more second-layer widget data sets; determining the screen position of each object located within a view frustum; and generating a pixel data set in response to the determination.

A terrain advisory system for an aircraft is disclosed. The terrain advisory system includes a processing unit, a display unit coupled to the processing unit where the display unit displays a map, and a database coupled to the processing unit. The system also includes a sensor system coupled to the processing unit and a terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS) coupled to the processing unit. The TAWS generates cautions and alerts. The processing unit includes a program that generates a terrain advisory envelope extending beyond the distance and lateral envelope within which the TAWS provides cautions and alerts. The terrain advisory envelope is distinguished from TAWS cautions and alerts with a graphical appearance that differs from the graphical appearance of TAWS cautions and alerts.

Terrain maneuver advisory envelope system and method

An aircraft weather radar system is disclosed. The system comprises a radar antenna, aircraft sensors, and a database. The system also comprises a processing device receiving information from the radar antenna and from the aircraft sensors and able to retrieve information from the database. Further, the system comprises a cockpit display coupled to the processing device. The processing device is programmed to estimate storm system characteristics based on the received information from the aircraft sensors and the database and to display the storm system characteristics on a vertical weather profile display using a graphical representation.

Vertical weather profile display system and method

An apparatus and method for automatically displaying to a flight crew member a list of electronic charts appropriate for a set flight plan or alternatively displaying the appropriate chart in response to information input into an FMS.
