A method of variable rate measurements in a device. The method generally includes the steps of (A) generating an intermediate signal conveying both a position of the device and a velocity of the device in response to a plurality of navigation signals received from external the device, (B) calculating an extrapolated position of the device at a second time based on the position and the velocity both measured at a first time, (C) adjusting an interval between the second time and a third time in response to a difference between the extrapolated position and the position measured at the second time and (D) generating a position signal conveying the position and the velocity, wherein the third time occurs after the second time and the second time occurs after the first time.

Variable measurement rate method for positioning systems

An amplifier circuit includes a circuit input, and a circuit output. An inverter, including first and second MOS transistors is connected between first and second supply voltages, and has an inverter input connected to the circuit input, and an inverter output, which provides an inverter output current corresponding to a circuit input voltage. A first resistive element comprises a third MOS transistor and a fourth MOS transistor of opposite conductivity types, and each having their gate and drain terminals connected to the inverter output and the circuit output, and having their respective source terminals connected to respective ones of the first and second supply voltages. A second resistive element includes a fifth MOS transistor and a sixth MOS transistor of opposite conductivity types, and each having its drain-source path connected between the circuit output and the circuit input, and having its gate connected to a respective voltage source.

Amplifier having controllable input impedance

In an amplifier circuit arrangement in which series resistive feedback is utilized in the main amplifier to minimize distortion, and a feedback amplifier is provided in a path from the output of the arrangement to the series feedback path effectively to boost the value of the feedback resistor, a further amplifier is arranged to provide positive feedback to the resistive load circuit of the main amplifier effectively to boost the value of the resistive load.

Dual-feedback amplifier circuit arrangements

A logarithmic detector having a first input line linked to the base of the first transistor, a second line linked to the base of the second transistor, a third input line linked to the bases of third and fourth transistors, a fourth input line linked to the bases of fifth and sixth transistors, a first output line linked to the collectors of the third and sixth transistors a second output line linked to the collectors of the fourth and fifth transistors and emitters of the third and fifth transistors being linked through the first and second impedances respectively to connect to the first transistor, the emitters of the fourth and sixth transistors being linked through third and fourth impedances to the collector of the second transistor and the emitters of the first and second transistors being linked through 5th and 6th impedances respectively to a current source connected to earth.

Logarithmic detector

A modulator circuit comprises an input for receiving an audio frequency (AF) signal, an oscillator circuit for providing a carrier wave signal, a mixer circuit for mixing the AF input signal with the carrier wave signal to provide an AM modulated signal, a switch having a first position in which the AM modulated signal is provided to an output and the switch having a second position in which the AM modulated signal is provided to a vector adding circuit where the AM modulated signal is vector added to the carrier wave signal, and the circuit including phase shift circuitry for shifting the phase of the AM modulated signal prior to vector adding with the carrier wave signal whereby to provide an FM modulated version of the AF input signal on the oscillator carrier wave.
