The disclosure relates to a tip member configured to be coupled to a blade structure for a turbomachine. A body of the tip member includes: a first surface configured to engage a radially outboard end of the blade structure, a second surface positioned opposite the first surface, and at least one perimeter sidewall positioned between the first and second surfaces, wherein the at least one perimeter sidewall has an airfoil cross-section; and an opening passing through the body from the first surface to the second surface, and having a single directional orientation therebetween, wherein the opening is sized to receive a post positioned on the radially outboard end of the blade structure.

Tip member for blade structure and related method to form turbomachine component

A turbine blade includes a tip shroud having a seal rail. The seal rail includes a tangential surface extending between tangential ends. The turbine blade includes a root portion configured to couple to a rotor and an airfoil portion extending between the root portion and the tip shroud. The seal rail includes a cooling passage extending along a length of the seal rail. The cooling passage is fluidly coupled to a cooling plenum to receive a cooling fluid via an intermediate cooling passage extending between the cooling passage and a cooling plenum. The seal rail includes cooling outlet passages fluidly coupled to the cooling passage. The cooling outlet passages are disposed within the seal rail and extend between the cooling passage and the tangential surface of the seal rail. The cooling outlet passages are configured to discharge the cooling fluid from the tip shroud via the tangential surface.

System for cooling seal rails of tip shroud of turbine blade

The present application further describes a method for extending the operating life of a tip shrouded turbine blade that includes the steps of: 1) removing an end located cutter tooth from a seal rail of a tip shroud, the end located cutter tooth including a cutter tooth located at the end of one of the suction side and pressure side of the seal rail of the tip shroud; and 2) attaching a center located cutter tooth to the seal rail of the tip shroud, the center located cutter tooth including a cutter tooth that is located in the approximate center of the seal rail of the tip shroud. In such method, the center located cutter tooth may be attached to the seal rail such that the center located cutter tooth is inside the airfoil if it were projected radially outward from the narrowest point below a tip shroud fillet.

Method to center locate cutter teeth on shrouded turbine blades

A bucket for a turbine is described. The bucket includes a dovetail portion configured to couple the bucket to a turbine wheel, the dovetail portion having a lower surface. The bucket also includes a shank portion that extends from the dovetail portion and an airfoil having a root and a tip portion, an airfoil shape, and a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z set forth in Table I. The bucket also includes a plurality of cooling passages. The plurality includes no more than five cooling passages that extend between the root and the tip portion of the airfoil. Each of the cooling passages exits the airfoil at the tip portion, the plurality of cooling passages are positioned in a camber line pattern.

Air cooled bucket for a turbine

A bucket for a turbine is provided. The bucket includes an airfoil having a root portion, a tip portion, an airfoil shape, and a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z set forth in Table I, wherein Z is a distance from a platform on which the airfoil extends outwardly from, and X and Y are coordinates defining the profile at each distance Z from the platform. The bucket also includes a plurality of cooling passages extending between the root portion and tip portion of the airfoil, each of the plurality of cooling passages exiting at the tip portion, the plurality of cooling passages positioned in a camber line pattern.
