Disclosed are various embodiments for surfacing local inventory. A location of a client device is determined based at least in part on a user-specified location associated with the client device or a geolocation technology using an identifier associated with the client device. It is determined that the location is within a region served by local deliveries from a materials handling facility. A first product and a second product that are stored in the materials handling facility are identified. While both the first and the second products are available for local delivery from the materials handling facility in the region, the first product is unavailable for delivery from the materials handling facility outside the region, but the second product is available for delivery from the materials handling facility outside the region. Data encoding a listing of products, including the first and second products, is sent to the client device.

Surfacing local inventory

Various embodiments of a method and system for capturing and utilizing item attributes are described. Various embodiments may include a mobile image capture apparatus, which may include a computer system configured to execute an image capture application. The image capture application may instruct an agent to capture an image of an item label. A data extraction component may be configured to process the images captured by the mobile image capture apparatus. For a given captured image, the data extraction component may in various embodiments be configured to perform OCR to determine one or more strings of characters from the image. The data extraction component may be further configured to determine whether one or more patterns match a determined string of characters. In response to the detection of a particular pattern matching a particular string of characters, the data extraction component may extract and store an attribute of the corresponding item.

Method and system for capturing and utilizing item attributes

Disclosed are various embodiments for surfacing local inventory. Data representing a global inventory of items stored in several materials handling facilities is provided in a computing device. A portion of the global inventory that is stored in one or more of the materials handling facilities located within a region is identified. One or more network pages are generated that surface one or more items included in the portion of the global inventory in association with one or more dedicated items stored in the one or more materials handling facilities. The dedicated items are dedicated for delivery within the region.

A facility for managing ownership of units of an item is described. The facility defines a commingling zone. For units of the item that are outside the commingling zone, the facility attributes ownership among a plurality of owners individually to each of the units. For units of the item that are inside the commingling zone, the facility attributes ownership among the plurality of owners to particular numbers of the units without attributing ownership individually to each of the units. The facility includes a method for reconciling ownership of units in the event of any discovered innacuracies.
