A single pack pourable liquid hypochlorite bleach cleaning composition for cleaning a flushable toilet bowl wherein at least 50% by weight of the hypochlorite comprises potassium hypochlorite and which liquid contains a bleach-resistant organic sequestering agent having a molecular weight below 1500 which sequesters calcium.

Cleaning of toilet bowls using liquid hypochlorite compositions

A liquid cleaning composition is disclosed that is suitable for cleaning strippable surface. It has an ester solvent with a Hansen solubility parameter in the range of 9.5 to 11 which is present in amount of 3.0% to 7.2% by weight based on the total weight of the composition. There is also a surfactant system in an amount of 3.5% to 7.5% by weight of active material based on the total weight of the composition. The system has a natural soap and a nonionic surfactant; an abrasive in an amount of 0.5% to 4.0% by weight based on total weight of the composition; and at least 70% by weight of water based on total weight of the composition. Methods of using and preparing the composition are also described.

Lubricating oil composition

A scale inhibiting composition comprises the combination of (a) a copolymer of an alkene, preferably a branched chain alkene, and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or anhydride, in acidic or neutralized form, and (b) an organic polyphosphonic acid or salt. A preferred composition contains the sodium salt of a copolymer of isobutene and maleic anhydride and 1-hydroxyethyl-1,1-diphosphonic acid. The compositions may be used in secondary or tertiary oil recovery, desalination of sea water and the softening of boiler feed water.

Method for the separation of gas from oil

A method for determining the stability of live foam comprises a sample pressurizing vessel connected to a sample injection chamber leading to a sample cell linked to a reference cell maintained at constant pressure. The link between the sample cell and the reference cell comprises a link fitted with a valve for initially equalizing the pressure between the two and subsequently isolating them. A differential pressure transducer is provided for determining the subsequent change in pressure of the sample with reference to the reference cell as the foam collapses.

Polysiloxanes of specified molecular weight and molecular weight distribution are effective anti-foam agents for reducing foaming in crude oil/gas separators. They are particularly useful in breaking microgas dispersions. The polysiloxanes, preferably polydimethyl siloxane, contain not more than 10% by weight of components of molecular weight 50,000 and lower, at least 15% by weight of components of molecular weight 200,000 and higher and not more than 6% by weight of components of molecular weight 370,000 and higher, molecular weights being expressed as polystyrene equivalent molecular weights.
