Activity monitoring and replay techniques monitor and replay user consumption of content. To perform one of the techniques, event data from users that reflects the consumption of content is collected. The collected event data is used to infer one or more features in the content that are consumed by the user. The consumption of the one or more features by the user is replayed.

Activity monitoring techniques monitor user consumption of content. To perform one of the techniques, event data from users that reflects the consumption of content is collected. The collected event data is analyzed to infer a feature within the content that the users are presumed to have consumed. Based on the analysis, an estimated actual impression measurement that reflects aggregate consumption of the feature within the content by the users is determined.

Monitoring user consumption of content

Relative ranking of items is performed based on a subjective attribute of the items. The activity monitoring strategy then collects event data that reflects the user's consumption of the content. The activity monitoring strategy can use client-side executable functionality to implement the collecting of layout data and event data. The activity monitoring strategy asynchronously sends the collected data to a data analysis module where it is analyzed to determine features in the content that the user is presumed to have consumed. The activity monitoring strategy can apply the results of its analysis to modify the content, set the price charged for display of the features, etc.

Methods and systems for extraction and summarization of sentiment information related to a particular research subject are disclosed. A method includes accessing sources of information that contain sentiment information that is related to the research subject and extracting the sentiment information from the sources of information as opinions related to the research subject. Opinion categories related to features of the research subject are identified. From this information a summarization of the sentiment information that is related to the particular research subject that includes the identified opinion categories is generated. Subsequently, access is provided to the summarization for graphical presentation.
