A method and apparatus for determining a parameter of a production fluid in a wellbore by providing an initially blocked isolated communication path between a sensor and an aperture formed in a sleeve. The isolated communication path is subsequently unblocked to allow measurements of the parameter of the production fluid.

Apparatus and methods for cemented multi-zone completions

A downhole plug having a plug body which includes (i) a base cylinder with a first outward facing locking surface and a central bore formed there through, (ii) a single set of circumferentially spaced slip ramps formed on the base cylinder, and (iii) slip guides positioned between the slip ramps, the slip guides having a second inward facing locking surface. The plug includes a single set of slips which a plurality of slip wedges with each slip wedge engaging a slip ramp. A slip compression cap is configured to urge the slip wedges along the slip ramps and the slip compression cap includes a locking ring having a third outward facing locking surface. A compression shoulder is configured to move a ratchet ring into contact with the first locking surface on the base cylinder and the ratchet ring includes a fourth inward facing locking surface. A radially expandable seal assembly is positioned between the compression shoulder and the slip ramps, and a catch seat is configured to receive a droppable object and establish a flow blockage above the catch seat to fluid moving through the central bore in a direction from the catch seat to the compression cap.

Dissolvable plug assembly

A swellable packer which includes a generally tubular mandrel having a central axis and an exterior cylindrical surface. The swellable packer further includes a swellable elastomeric body fixed to the exterior cylindrical surface of the mandrel, wherein the swellable elastomeric body includes a plurality of grooves and wherein the generally tubular elastomeric sleeve has a circumference and a thickness.

Grooved swellable packer

A toe valve having an outer tubular member, including at least one outer flow port, and an inner tubular member positioned at least partially within the outer tubular member and including a central flow passage. An indexing mechanism is positioned within the outer tubular member and there is a flow path allowing fluid pressure from the central passage to act against a first side of the indexing mechanism. A biasing device acts on a second side of the indexing mechanism and the indexing mechanism is configured to allow communication between the central flow passage and the outer flow port after the indexing mechanism is subject to a plurality of pressure cycles within the central flow passage.

Multi-pressure toe valve

A time actuated element includes a mandrel, a housing coupled to the mandrel, the housing defining a fluid expansion chamber. A piston is positioned within the fluid expansion chamber. A thermally expanding fluid is positioned within the fluid expansion chamber. An end ring coupled to the piston slides along the mandrel in response to a sliding of the piston. A packer having a first end and a second end, the first end adapted to slide along the mandrel in response to a sliding of the end ring, and the second end fixedly coupled to the mandrel, so that a sliding of the first end of the packer toward the second end causes the packer element to decrease in length and increase in radius.

Temperature compensated element and uses thereof in isolating a wellbore

A temperature actuated element includes a mandrel, a housing coupled to the mandrel, the housing defining a fluid expansion chamber. A piston is positioned within the fluid expansion chamber. A thermally expanding fluid is positioned within the fluid expansion chamber. An end ring coupled to the piston slides along the mandrel in response to a sliding of the piston. A degradable ring is coupled to the mandrel to prevent movement of the end ring before the degradable ring is dissolved. A packer having a first end and a second end, the first end adapted to slide along the mandrel in response to a sliding of the end ring, and the second end fixedly coupled to the mandrel, so that a sliding of the first end of the packer toward the second end causes the packer element to decrease in length and increase in radius.

Temperature compensated element and associated methods

According to one aspect of the disclosure, a hydraulic cycle opening sleeve includes a valve assembly and an opening assembly. The valve assembly includes at least one valve chamber and valve piston positioned to move in response to fluid pressure. The opening assembly includes a sliding piston to selectively open or close the hydraulic cycle opening sleeve.

A sliding sleeve opens with a deployed ball. The sleeve has a seat disposed in the housing, and the seat has segments biased outward from one another with a C-ring or other biasing element. Initially, the seat has an expanded state in the sliding sleeve so that the seats segments expand outward against the housing's bore. When an appropriately sized ball is deployed downhole, the ball engages the expanded seat. Fluid pressure applied against the seated ball moves the seat into the inner sleeve's bore. As this occurs, the seat contracts, which increases the engagement area of the seat with the ball. Eventually, the seat reaches the shoulder in the inner sleeve so that pressure applied against the seated ball now moves the inner sleeve in the housing to open the sliding sleeve's flow port.
