A fixture assembly can be used for testing and calibrating hearing devices in a fast, reliable and repeatable manner. The fixture assembly includes a support frame that supports an arm assembly with a holder to hold acoustics coupler(s) and hearing device for the purpose of acoustic testing and calibration.

Acoustics fixture for manual or automated testing and/or calibration of hearing devices

A wireless charger for a hearing assistance device can include a microphone and a wireless charging circuit. The microphone is configured to receive a wireless communication, including data, in an audio frequency range from a speaker built into a hearing assistance device. The hearing assistance device is configured to amplify sound into a user's ear. The wireless charging circuit of the wireless charger is configured to act as a wireless data transmitter to transmit wireless data in an ultrasonic frequency range, via a charging coil, to the hearing assistance device.

Apparatus and method to integrate a wireless charger and a hearing assistance device

A guard for a space access device is configured to output air flow through a distal end portion thereof. The guard includes q housing having a proximal end opening, a distal end opening, and a filter portion positioned between the proximal and distal end openings. The filter includes a first plate having a first opening therethrough and a second plate having a second opening therethrough. When the first plate is overlaid in contact with the second plate, this forms an aperture that extends through both the first and second plates.

Wax management system

Systems and methods for detecting and diagnosing causes of subpar performance of a hearing device are provided for a user. The hearing device may include a housing, a receiver and a sound processor configured to send signals to the receiver. The receiver may be configured to output audio signals from the signals sent by the sound processor. A base unit may include a main body having a cradle formed therein. The cradle may be configured to receive the hearing device therein. A base unit microphone interfaces with the cradle and may be configured to receive output audio signals from the receiver when the hearing device is received in the cradle. The base unit microphone and the receiver remain in open communication with a space exterior of the base unit when the hearing device has been received in the cradle. A processor associated with the system may be configured to compare signal energy levels of test audio signals produced by the base unit microphone, in response to the audio signals received from the receiver, with signal energy levels of reference audio signals, and to indicate a blockage of the receiver has occurred when a difference between the signal energy levels of test audio signals and the signal energy levels of reference audio signals exceeds a threshold difference.

Hearing device test and diagnostics system and methods

Securing mechanisms for space access devices, such as an audio signal transmitting device, include a plurality of outwardly projecting members that are configured to transition from a relaxed state to a securing state when the space access device is inserted into an internal space or opening that has an inside diameter smaller than an outside diameter of the outwardly projecting members in the relaxed state. The outwardly projecting members securely engage a surface of the internal space and conform to the shape and size of the internal space. A sound blocking portion can be provided to substantially prevent air/sound flow past the sound blocking portion of the securing mechanism.

Adjustable securing mechanism

A high-speed low-power dynamic current biased operational amplifier (Op-amp) for use in switched capacitor circuits. The system and method reduces current in the reset process of the switched capacitor circuit's operation, while maintaining the drive current required for fast settling in the amplification process. The system and method significantly lowers the power consumption of the switched capacitor circuit, while overcoming the main issues related to dynamic current biasing in an Op-amp, common-mode feedback interaction, using architecture other than the standard differential input stage of a normal Op-amp.

High-speed low-power dynamic current biased operational amplifier

Methods and apparatus of amplifying signals. One method includes receiving a variable power supply, generating a variable bias current, and applying the bias current to a load such that an average output voltage is generated. The method further includes receiving an input signal, generating a current proportional to the input signal, and subtracting the current from the variable bias current. As the variable power supply changes value by a first amount, the variable bias current is varied such that the average output voltage varies by the first amount.

Logarithmic IF amplifier with dynamic large signal bias circuit

An automatic gain control circuit for amplifying an input signal of varying strength and having a fast attack mode of operation and a tracking mode of operation includes a gain controlled amplifier for receiving the input signal and producing an amplified analog output signal, a receive signal strength indicator (RSSI) circuit for receiving the amplified analog signal and producing an output voltage indicative of strength of the signal, and decision logic circuitry responsive to the output voltage from the RSSI circuit for controlling gain to the gain controlled amplifier. A plurality of comparators is provided for comparing the output voltage from the RSSI circuit to threshold voltages in generating output signals indicative of the voltage comparisons which can indicate the RSSI output voltage being very low, low, high, or very high as inputs to the decision logic circuit. The decision logic circuitry can then provide a fast acquisition mode of operation or a tracking mode of operation depending on the output signals from the plurality of comparators. In preferred embodiments, the gain controlled amplifier can comprise a plurality of cascaded gain controlled amplifier circuits with the gains of the cascaded gain control amplifier circuits being controlled by the decision logic circuitry. The threshold voltages provided to the plurality of comparators can be programmable for specific modes of operation.
