A power connector for electrically connecting with a complementary connector includes an insulating housing defining a number of channels and a number of pairs of power contacts received in corresponding channels. Each pair of power contacts has a pair of oppositely arranged two power contacts. Each power contact is provided with a retaining portion fixed within the channel, a contacting portion extending from one end of the retaining portion and a tail portion extending from the other end of the retaining portion. The contacting portion is formed with a first contacting finger and a second contacting finger, which are side-by-side positioned. The first contacting finger defines a first contacting area and the second contacting finger defines a second contacting area. The first and the second contacting areas are extending within a same plane.

Power connector

An electrical connector mounted to a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) includes an insulating housing having a mating face, a mounting face and a rear wall positioned between the mating face and the mounting face. The housing defines a number of contact-receiving passageways and a number of heat dissipating slots communicating with the contact-receiving passageways. a number of conductive contacts are respectively received in the passageways. Each contact includes a contacting portion, a termination portion and an intermediate portion. The insulating housing has a heat dissipating section defined between the mounting face and the rear wall. The heat dissipating section communicates with the heat dissipating slots to thereby defining a heat dissipating path therebetween.

Electrical connector with heat dissipating path

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of first contact modules, a number of second contact modules and a number of third contacts all assembled into the insulative housing. Each first contact module includes a first wafer and first contacts insert-molded in the first wafer. Each second contact module includes a second wafer and second contacts insert-molded in the second wafer. The first contact modules, the second contact modules and the third contacts are arranged side by side after being inserted into the insulative housing. The adjacent first wafer and the second wafer cooperatively include mutual locking structures so that they can be inserted into the insulative housing in turn under a predetermined sequence.

Electrical connector with locking structures for assembling contact modules

An electrical contact assembly includes a pair of contacting members and a cable receiving member fixed with the contacting members. Each of the contacting members is in a shape of sheet and opposite to each other. The pair of contacting members is formed separately and defines a front-to-rear direction. The cable receiving member is formed separately from the pair of contacting members or is formed integrally with one of the contacting members. As the pair of contacting members is formed separately, the manufacturing process is simple and the quality is easy to control. The symmetry accuracy of the pair of contacting portions will also be controlled perfectly. As a result, a power loss of an electric current will be decreased.

Electrical contact assembly

A power connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of power contacts received in the insulative housing, a contact bus bar electrically connecting with the plurality of power contacts and a fastening element fastening the contact bus bar and an outer terminal arranged behind the insulative housing together. The insulative housing has a mating face at a front side thereof. The power contacts are provided with soldering pads, and the contact bus bar has a front mating pad engaging with the soldering pads. The front mating pad is formed with a plurality of soldering holes, and the front mating pad and the soldering pads being connected electrically via soldering tin set in the soldering holes.

A cable connector includes an insulative housing, at least one group of circuit boards retained on the insulative housing, cables connecting with the circuit boards electrically, and insulator fixing the insulative housing, the circuit boards and the cables together. The insulative housing has a first receiving space and a second receiving space. The first receiving space spaces apart from the second receiving space along a front to back direction. Each circuit board has a front part received in the first receiving space and a rear part received in the second receiving space. The front part is formed with electrical contacts. The cables connect with the rear parts. The insulator is insert-molded in the second receiving space and encloses the rear parts.

Cable connector and method of making the same

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and two rows of power contacts received in the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a main body and a mating port extending from the main body. Each power contact includes a mating portion protruding into the mating port, a Z-shaped intermediate portion extending rearwardly from the mating portion and a termination portion. The insulative housing includes a first heat dissipation path extending along a first direction, a second heat dissipation path extending along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and a third heat dissipation path extending along a third direction perpendicular to the first direction and the second direction. The first heat dissipation path, the second heat dissipation path and the third heat dissipation path are surrounding the power contacts for heat dissipation.

Electrical connector with robust heat-dissipation structures

A receptacle connector includes an insulative housing, a number of conductive contacts, and a retainer seat. The insulative housing includes a mating face for mating with a plug connector and a mounting face opposite to the mating face. The insulative housing defines a number of contact-receiving passages penetrating from the mating face to the mounting face and a mounting recess recessed from the mounting face toward the mating face a certain distance. The conductive contacts are respectively received in the contact-receiving passages. Each conductive contact includes a contacting portion for electrically contacting the plug connector, a termination portion for electrically connecting with a Printed Circuit Board, and an intermediate portion connecting the contacting portion with the termination portion. The retainer seat is fixedly received in the mounting recess of the insulative housing.

Receptacle connector with high retention force

The present invention relates to a power connector. The power connector includes a housing and a number of contacts received in the housing. At least one of the contacts includes a pair of opposite walls spaced apart at a predetermined distance. The walls have a front end respectively. The contact may further include a contact protection mechanism for protecting the contacts, wherein the contact protection mechanism bridges the front ends of the walls. The present invention also relates to a power connector assembly.

Power connector and power connector assembly with contact protection mechanism

A power connector assembly is provided which comprises a plug connector and a mating receptacle connector. The plug connector includes an insulative plug housing having a plurality of passageways divided by division walls and a plurality of plug terminals accommodated in the corresponding passageways of the plug housing. The receptacle connector includes an insulative receptacle housing having a receiving space for receiving a part of the plug housing inserted therein and a plurality of receptacle terminals accommodated in the receptacle housing for mating with the plug terminals. Airflow channels are formed between the outer surface of the part of the plug housing in the receiving space and the inner surface of the receiving space for dissipation of heat.

Power connector assembly

In an electric power connector comprised of a plug module and a socket module, a male metal terminals of the plug module and a female metal terminals of the socket module are respectively made out of a respective solid metal plate member through a continuous stamping process, and each male metal terminal has a base and two contact prongs bilaterally extended from one side of the base at different elevations, therefore the electric power connector eliminates electron ionization or thermal stress in the metal terminals, ensuring high stability and reliability of metal terminals in power transmission. Further, the two contact prongs of each male metal terminal are bilaterally extended from one side of the base thereof at different elevations so that when one contact prongs is deformed or curved accidentally by an external force, the other contact prong is still kept in positive contact with the associating contact prong of the matching female metal terminal to ensure the stability and reliability of the electrical connection between the male metal terminals and the female metal terminals.
