A ball bearing rail assembly includes a first slide member (), a second slide member (), and a plurality of ball bearings () movably retained in the first slide member. The first slide member includes a plurality of spoon-like tabs (), each tab forming a recessed portion () at a free end thereof. A plurality of slots () is defined in the first slide member, each slot having a generally oval end portion (). The recessed portions of the tabs fittingly and resiliently press the ball bearings against the first slide member at the oval portions of the slots respectively. Each ball bearing is partially exposed out of the first slide member at a corresponding oval portion of the slot. The second slide member is slidably engaged with the exposed portions of the ball bearings. Thus the first slide member can be reliably moved relative to the second slide member.

A mounting device for mounting a data storage device in a cage of a computer enclosure includes a rack and a securing plate. The rack has a base wall and a pair of opposite side walls upwardly extending from opposite sides of the base wall for receiving the data storage device therein. One side wall defines a pair of through holes. The other side wall provides a pair of first posts to insert into side holes of the data storage device. The securing plate comprises a body portion and a resilient portion. The body portion forms a pair of second posts for extending through corresponding through holes of the rack and filling within opposite side holes of the data storage device after the data storage device is received in the rack.

A computer enclosure includes a cage, a drive bracket received in the cage, and a fastener attached to the drive bracket. The drive bracket includes a pair of side plates each defining a pair of recesses recessed from an inner surface thereof and a pair of holes. A pair of supporting tabs extends from the inner surface of each side plate for supporting a data storage device. The fastener forms a pair of pivoting portions for extending into and pivoting about the recesses of the drive bracket and a pair of fixing tabs for extending through the holes of the drive bracket to fix the data storage device.

A rail assembly is adapted for mounting a data storage device to a computer enclosure. The rail assembly comprises a rail and a fastener. The rail comprises a body and a latch so connected with the body as to be capable of a flexing movement relative to the body. The body forms a pair of first protrusions to define a gap therebetween and defining a pair of slots. The fastener comprises a base secured in the gap of the rail and a pair of fixing portions extending from the base through the slots of the rail to securely insert into a data storage device, thereby releasably locking the latch to a computer enclosure.

A mounting bracket for removably attaching a data processing device to a cage of a computer housing comprises a base plate forming a first sidewall and a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall. Both sidewalls extend vertically from transverse sides of the base plate. The first and second sidewalls define a receiving space for receiving a data processing device therein. The first sidewall includes a biasing flange extending horizontally into the receiving space from a free end thereof, and the second sidewall includes at least a biasing tab extending toward the receiving space thereby facilitating the installation of the data processing device within the receiving space.

A computer enclosure comprises a base frame, a mounting bracket, and a top cover. The base frame has a base panel, a front panel, a rear panel for mounting connectors and a power supply thereto, and a plate dividing the base frame into a first space for receiving and mounting a mother board on the base panel and a second space for containing and fixing other components such as a switching power supply, a floppy disk drive, or a CD ROM. The mounting bracket receives a hard disk therein and can be mounted in either the first space or second space. Alternatively, two mounting brackets can be mounted in both spaces, respectively. The mounting bracket is hooked onto the plate and fastened onto the front or rear panel with one screw. The base frame has a stopper located between the front and rear panels and pivotably mounted to the base panel. The mother board smoothly slides into the first space without obstruction by engaging the stopper the base frame.

A cage assembly defining a plurality of bays for mounting peripherals therein comprises a built-in cage fixedly secured to a computer housing. The built-in cage includes a bottom face having front and rear edges thereon. At least a retaining lug formed at one of the front and rear edges. An additional cage is removably assembled to the bottom face of the built-in cage. The additional cage forms at least a retaining flap for detachably engaging with one of the first and rear edges, and a retaining tab for retention with the retaining lug of the built-in cage. A latch bracket assembly arranged between the built-in and additional cages includes a latch bracket movably assembled to the bottom face of the built-in cage and a retaining dowel integrally formed on the upper face of the additional cage. Wherein latch bracket is selectively moved between a first position in which the retaining dowel is securely locked, and a second position in which the retaining dowel is released therefrom.

An apparatus for adjustably mounting a cooling device, such as a fan, to a computer enclosure comprises a saddle and a bracket. The saddle for mounting the fan thereto has opposite longitudinal skirts with locating slots defined therein. The bracket has a first portion attached to a wall of the computer enclosure and a second portion for mounting an assembly of the saddle and the fan thereto. The assembly of the saddle and the fan is slidably mounted to the second portion of the bracket for adjustably locating at a position corresponding to a CPU of a mother board.

Apparatus for adjustable mounting a cooling device to a computer

A computer housing comprises a base frame, a mounting bracket, and a top cover. The base frame has a base panel for mounting to a mother board, a front panel, a rear panel for mounting connectors and a power supply thereto, and a locating plate for fixing a riser card thereto. The mounting bracket is supported on the front and rear panels, defines a plurality of screw holes therein for fastening a hard disk and the power supply thereto, and forms a plurality of spring fingers contacting the top cover for providing electrostatic discharge and grounding capabilities. The top cover is U-shaped and forms a plurality of hooks on an inner side thereof for engagement with the base frame.

A shorting block (10) includes a main body (12) defining a plurality of passageways (14) therein. A conductive strip (22) including a plurality of downward extending tangs (24) adapted to be received within the corresponding passageways (14), respectively, is attached to the main body (12) from the top. A cover (28) including a pair of locking tabs (30) positioned at two opposite ends, is fastened to the main housing (12) and has the conductive strip (22) sandwiched therebetween. An offset area (36) is formed on the top surface (26) of the main body (12) for snugly receiving the conductive strip (22) therein. Each of some passageways (14) further includes a guidable alignment post (15) for aligning and pre-loading the inserted tang (24) therewith.
