An optical fiber adapter according to the present disclosure includes a main body and an elastic shutter member. The main body has an accommodation room defined by a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a fourth wall, wherein the first wall faces the third wall and connects with the second and fourth walls. An indentation is formed within the accommodation room and on the third wall. The shutter member includes two fixing portions positioned within the accommodation room and on the third wall, a shutter plate, a connecting portion connecting the fixing portions with the shutter plate, and a hooking portion positioned within the accommodation room. The hooking portion extends from the connecting portion to hook on to the indentation on the third wall, and the shutter plate extends from the connecting portion and into the accommodation room.

An optical fiber adapter according to the present disclosure includes a main body and an elastic shutter member. The main body has an axial accommodation room defined by a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a fourth wall, wherein the first wall faces the third wall and connects with the second and fourth walls. The accommodation room has a first opening and a second opening opposing to the first opening. An access opening is provided on the first wall for the inner housings to place within the accommodation room. The cover plate is positioned to cover the access opening on the first wall. The shutter member includes a fixing portion, at least one first hook, a shutter plate and a connecting portion. The fixing portion is positioned on the cover plate and within the accommodation room. The first hook is provided at the fixing portion for the fixing portion to be fixed on the cover plate. The connecting portion connects the fixing portion with the shutter plate. The shutter plate extends from the connecting portion and is positioned within the accommodation room.

An optical fiber connector and adapter according to the present invention are provided. At least one indentation is formed on the connector and a protrusion mating with the indentation is formed within the adapter thereby physically limiting the insertion of a connector into a particular adapter.

A one-piece LC type optical fiber adapter is provided. The LC type adapter of the present invention has fewer parts than a conventional one. Therefore, it is simpler and easier to assemble the LC type adapter of the present invention. An optical fiber adapter according to the present invention includes a main body, an inner housing and a cover plate. The main body has an axial cavity defined by a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a fourth wall, wherein the first wall faces the third wall and connects with the second and fourth walls. The axial cavity has two opposing axial openings and is configured to receive the inner housing. An access opening is arranged on the first wall for the inner housing to place within the axial cavity. A plurality of protruding portions is positioned on the second and fourth walls, respectively, wherein each the protruding portion has an indentation formed thereon and facing the access opening. The cover plate is configured to cover the access opening on the first wall of the main body, wherein the cover plate has a plurality of protrusions formed thereon and positioning corresponding to the indentations on the protruding portions of the main body. When the protrusions on the cover plate are melted and the cover plate is brought to cover the access opening, the molten protrusions will bond with the protruding portions of the main body.

One-piece optical fiber adapter

An optical fiber adapter is provided. The adapter includes a plurality of walls which defines an accommodation room adapted for being coupled with an optical fiber connector. A protrusion in the accommodation room is disposed on one of the walls. The adapter further includes a shutter member having a first parallel portion, a second parallel portion substantially parallel to the first parallel portion and a connecting portion connecting the first and second parallel portions. The first and second parallel portions and the connecting portion together define a clamping portion. The clamping portion clamps the protrusion. An elastic shutter plate extends from the first parallel portion and into the accommodation room.

An optical fiber connector includes a connector housing, a ferrule and a clamping assembly. The connector hosing has a front end and a rear end. The ferrule is disposed in the connector housing and projects from the front end of the connector housing. The clamping assembly is disposed in the connector housing for mounting the ferrule, and includes a hollow housing and a cam member, wherein the cam member includes a groove adapted to clamp a terminating fiber when a cam effect between the hollow housing and the cam member is generated and further the cam effect causes the groove of the cam member to generate a clamping force.
