Examples of transmit power controls are described herein. In some examples, an electronic device includes an imaging capturing device to capture a video stream. In some examples, the electronic device includes video processing circuitry. In some examples, the video processing circuitry may measure background motion in the video stream. In some examples, the video processing circuitry may detect human proximity based on the measured background motion. In some examples, the video processing circuitry may control transmit power in response to the human proximity detection.

In some examples, a non-transitory computer-readable medium stores machine-readable instructions which, when executed by a controller of an electronic device, cause the controller to perform an assistive depth of field analysis. Performing the assistive depth analysis causes the controller to receive images from an image sensor, determine, via artificial intelligence (AI) processing, a depth of field of the images, and generate a signal representing consecutive changes in the depth of field of the images with respect to a first of the images.

The present disclosure relates to a compact antenna system within a dielectric housing of an electronic device, capable of achieving improved reflection performance. The antenna system includes a ground plane and an antenna PCB. An antenna microstrip feed on a side of the antenna PCB comprises a first part of a radiating antenna element. The antenna PCB is connected to the ground plane by a central conductor of a coaxial cable which forms a ground path. An outer conductor of the coaxial cable carries RF signals to the antenna PCB, allowing the RF signals to freely radiate along a length of the coaxial cable and acting as a second part of the radiating antenna element. The coaxial cable does not interfere with, and can even enhance a radiation pattern of the antenna microstrip feed.

Example implementations relate to alerts for virtual meetings. In some examples, a computing device can include a processor, where the processor is to in response to a virtual meeting having been initiated, determine whether a graphical user interface of the virtual meeting is minimized in a desktop environment and whether communication has occurred in the virtual meeting, and in response to communication having occurred and the graphical user interface being minimized, cause an alert to be displayed on a display panel.

In an example, a wireless client station detects a first signal emitted by a first wireless access point and a second signal emitted by a second wireless access point. The wireless client station extracts a first set of data indicative of the signal strength and network congestion of the first wireless access point and a second set of data indicative of the signal strength and network congestion of the second wireless access point. The wireless client station then computes a first performance metric of first wireless access point, based on the first set of data, and a second performance metric of the second wireless access point, based on the second set of data. The wireless client station determines that the first performance metric is greater than the second performance metric and initiates a connection to the first wireless access point in response.

Selection of wireless access points based on signal strength and network congestion

A technique includes identifying a cellular communication frequency band and a wireless local area network communication channel being used by a wireless station. Based on the identified cellular communication frequency band and wireless local area network communication channel, assignment of the wireless local area network communication channel is regulated to inhibit interference due to the concurrent use of the cellular communication frequency band and the wireless local area network communication channel. The regulation of the assignment includes using the wireless station to determine whether to reassign the wireless local area network communication channel.

Example systems relate to wireless head-mounted devices. A wireless head-mounted device may include high-throughput performance miming at millimeter wave band receiving hardware to receive a transmission from corresponding high-powered transmitting hardware included in a computing device. The transmission may include audio, visual, or video data. The wireless head-mounted device may further include a plurality of sensors to collect sensor data. The wireless head-mounted device may further include low-powered transmitting hardware to transmit at least the sensor data collected by the sensors to corresponding low-powered receiving software included in the computing device.

In one implementation, radio power mode switching includes comparing a time zone associated with a current location of a client device with a country code associated with a current location of an access point, where the client device is connected to the access point, and switching a first radio power mode of the client device to a second radio power mode of the client device based on the comparison of the time zone and the country code.

Disclosed is a photodetector adapted to be used with a voltage source for replacing the conventional CCD. The photodetector includes a substrate electrically connected with an electrode of the voltage source for generating electron-hole pairs in response to a light, a conducting layer electrically connected with the other electrode of the voltage source, and an ultra thin (&tilde;nm) insulating layer formed between the conducting layer and the substrate, wherein one of electrons and holes, excited by the light, in the substrate will move to the conducting layer through the insulating layer so as to form a photo current when the voltage source provides a bias voltage.
