Described are an amplifier circuits, systems, and methods for amplifying a plurality of sinusoid signals having a relative phase difference to each other. The amplifier circuit comprises a first sequence of at least three transistor amplifiers, wherein a first terminal of each transistor amplifier of the first sequence is configured to receive one respective signal of the plurality sinusoid signals. The amplifier further comprises a second sequence of at least three transistor amplifiers. A second terminal of each transistor amplifier of the second sequence is connected to a third terminal of one respective transistor amplifier of the first sequence. A first terminal of each transistor amplifier of the second sequence is connected to the third terminal of a next transistor amplifier of the second sequence. The first terminal of a last transistor amplifier is connected to the third terminal of a first transistor amplifier.

Amplifier circuit for amplifying sinusoid signals

The present invention relates to an antenna device comprising an antenna part having a patch with several edges, a first transmit path connected to a first connection port at a first edge of the patch, and a second transmit path connected to a second connection port at the first edge of the patch. The first and second connection ports are located at a distance from each other along the first edge, and a first transmitter and a second transmitter are connected to the antenna part. The first transmit path comprises a first signal combiner connected to the first and second transmitters and to the first connection port. The second transmit path comprises a second signal combiner connected to the first and second transmitters and to the second connection port. The first signal combiner is arranged to generate a difference between signals originating from the first and second transmitters. The second signal combiner is arranged to generate a sum of the signals originated from the first and second transmitters. Thereby, it is possible to simultaneously transmit two different signals. A method for transmitting a radio frequency signal by means of the device is provided as well.

Antenna device

An active electronically steerable receive antenna may comprise an antenna array that includes multiple receive antenna elements. Reflected radar signals may be received at the receive antenna elements, and received signals may be obtained from the receive antenna elements. The received signals may be processed via at least frequency down-conversion, analog-to-digital conversion, generation of digital signals, and alignment of the received signals or the digital signals for a predetermined angle of incidence. Multiple signals including a sum beamforming signal and a product beamforming may be multiplied to determine a beamformed signal. The sum beamforming signal and the product beamforming signal may be respectively determined by summing or multiplying at least two of the digital signals. The product beamforming signal may be a grating lobe suppression signal that suppresses grating lobes of the sum beamforming signal when multiplied with the sum beamforming signal.

Radar beamforming

The present invention describes a phased array transmitter and a method for beamforming. The phased array transmitter comprises a plurality of transmitting branches configured for up-converting an IF signal to an RF signal with a desired RF phase shift. Each transmitting branch is configured for phase shifting the IF signal with a first phase shift and the LO signal with a second phase shift such that the combined first and second phase shift is the desired RF phase shift of the transmitting branch.

Method and transmitter for transmit beamforming in a wireless communication system

A circuit including a first transistor group and a second transistor group. The transistor groups are connected such that they are arranged to be fed with at least one input signal, and such that they are arranged to output at least two currents. At least two transistors are arranged to be biased in such a way that desired signal paths are obtained in the circuit, such that a desired output current ratio is obtained.

An amplifier circuit for current amplification. An input stage is adapted to receive an input signal. At least one current multiplication stage is connected to the input stage. The current multiplication stage is adapted to receive a current signal from the input stage and to produce a multiplied output current signal at an output of the amplifier circuit. The current multiplication stage includes at least two current multiplication circuits connected to each other. Each current multiplication circuit is adapted to produce an output current signal essentially equal to the current signal from the input stage, such that the output current signal at an output of the amplifier circuit includes a sum of the current signals received at each current multiplication circuit. A bi-directional amplifier, transceiver, integrated circuit, mobile unit, telecommunication infrastructure for amplification of signals received or signals to be transmitted in a communication circuit and a method for bi-directional amplification comprising amplifying signals in a bi-directional amplifier and directing a signal between two or more different paths comprising at least one first biased semiconductor amplification element coupled to a at least one first impedance matching network, at least one second biased semiconductor amplification element coupled to a second impedance matching network, a first device for biasing the at least one first biased semiconductor amplification element and a second device for biasing the at least one second biased semiconductor amplification element where the direction of signal amplification in said bi-directional amplifier is controlled by the first or second device for biasing the at least one first or second biased semiconductor amplification element.

Switch-less bidirectional amplifier

A phase shifter device having two bandwidth modes arranged for altering the electrical length of a signal path between at least two different values, which device is adapted for guiding a signal through at least one of at least a first signal path having a first phase and amplitude filter characteristics for varying frequency of the signal, and a second signal path, having a second phase and amplitude filter characteristics for varying frequency of the signal. At least one of said first and second phase and amplitude filter characteristics is realized by means of an all-pass filter.

Reconfigurable phase-shifter

A method of controlling a characteristic impedance of a transmission line, and a transmission line implementing the method. According to a basic version of the invention a distance between longitudinal currents are controlled, thereby controlling a characteristic inductance of the transmission line. This without hindering transversal currents on which a characteristic capacitance is dependent upon. This is achieved by cutting longitudinal currents within a minimum distance between the longitudinal currents and leaving longitudinal currents that have a distance greater than the minimum distance alone. This is done without cutting transversal currents to any significant degree. The longitudinal currents can be cut in the return conductor and/or in the signal strip, in dependence on the type of transmission line.
