A method in a wireless device for performing random access to a network node. The method comprises receiving a set of downlink beam-specific reference signals, BRS, from the network node, and determining a preferred BRS based on the received signal power for each BRS. The method also comprises selecting, based on the preferred BRS, a random-access resource to be used for transmitting a random-access attempt to the network node, as well as using the selected random-access resource when transmitting a random-access attempt to the network node, whereby the selection of random-access resource indicates to the network node which downlink beam is preferred by the wireless device to be used for downlink transmissions.

System and method for beam-based physical random-access

A method, performed in a User Equipment (UE), is disclosed. The method is for facilitating the establishing of a UE processing configuration for the selective enhancement of radio signals received or transmitted by the UE. The method comprises receiving from a Transmission Point (TP) of a wireless network an indication that an identified reference signal is usable by the UE for establishing a UE processing configuration, and receiving the identified reference signal from a Transmission Point of the wireless network.

Methods and apparatus relating to selective enhancement of radio signals

A wireless device and a method therein for assisting in precoder selection for wireless communication with a Radio Node (RN), and a RN for performing precoder selection for wireless communication with a wireless device. The wireless device is configured with a set of precoders. The wireless device determines a subset of precoders out of the set of precoders; and transmits, to the RN, at least one Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) precoded with a respective at least one precoder comprised in the subset. The RN receives, from the wireless device, at least one SRS precoded with a respective at least one precoder comprised in a subset of precoders; and transmits, to the wireless device, a signal indicative of a selected precoder to be used for a transmission to the RN, wherein the selected precoder is indirectly selected based on the received at least one SRS.

Wireless device, a radio node, and methods therein

Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a radio network node for handling transmission of data from a wireless device in a wireless communication network. The radio network node determines a delay value for a transmission of data from the wireless device based on a transmission type of data from the wireless device or a capability of the wireless device. The capability is related to a processing time for processing received data from the radio network node, or for processing data for transmission to the radio network node. The radio network node further transmits an indication, to the wireless device, which indication indicates the determined delay value.

Delaying transmission depending on transmission type and UE processing capabilities

Embodiments herein relate to method performed by a radio-network node for handling a data transmission, from a wireless device to the radio-network node, in a wireless communication network. The radio-network node schedules one or more resources for carrying an uplink data transmission from the wireless device over a channel, and for carrying a feedback transmission, of a downlink data transmission from the radio-network node, over the same channel. The radio-network node transmits a control message to the wireless device, which control message indicates the one or more resources scheduled for carrying the uplink data transmission and the feedback transmission over the same channel.

A method for operating a wireless communication network, wherein a first member of the network transmits a scheduling message to a secondary member of the network and the secondary member receives the scheduling message. The secondary member schedules sounding signal transmissions and/or a corresponding schedule based on the scheduling message, wherein the scheduling message and/or the sounding signal schedule refers to a schedule for sounding signals based on a status of beam forming performed in the network and/or wherein the sounding signal schedule and/or the schedule message refers to a compact schedule of sounding signals.

Method and apparatuses for operating a wireless communication network

A wireless device () is configured for dual mode V2X communications over multiple short range radio interfaces. The wireless device () is configured to transmit ITS messages over a first short range radio interface configured to operate according to a first communication standard (e.g. PC5 or IEEE 802.11p), and to receive ITS messages over both the first short range radio interface and a second short radio interface configured to operate according to a second communication standard. Implementing the transmitter chain of only one technology, either PC5 or IEEE 802.11p, at each wireless device () reduces complexity and mitigates co-channel and adjacent channel interference that is caused by uncoordinated and concurrent transmissions of different technologies from the same wireless device. Implementing receiver chains for both PC5 and 802.11p allows the wireless device () to receive signals in the ITS frequency band regardless of which technology the transmitting device is using.

Dual mode vehicle to vehicle communications

A method performed by a wireless device () for determining Channel State Information, CSI, estimates to be transmitted in a CSI report for the wireless device () to a network node () in a radio communications network () is provided. The wireless device () receives a message comprising an indication to use CSI estimates corresponding to a determined period of time. In response to said message, the wireless device () determines CSI estimates to be used in the CSI report to the network node () according to the received indication. Wireless device, a network node and methods therein for reporting channel state information (CSI) in a radio communications network

Embodiments include methods for a wireless device operating in a wireless communication network. Such methods include receiving from the wireless communication network, during a first transmission-time interval (TTI), an explicit request for automatic repeat-request (ARQ) feedback from the wireless device. The request can include an indication of one of the following: a range of ARQ process numbers for which the ARQ feedback is requested, or a range of TTIs, indicating that the wireless device is to provide ARQ feedback for all ARQ processes active during the indicated range of TTIs. Such methods also include transmitting to the wireless communication network, during a second TTI after the first TTI, ARQ feedback information for the ARQ processes indicated in the request. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a network node, as well as wireless devices and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

Flexible configuration of HARQ process feedback

A system and method of Random-Access Response, RAR, messaging when a base station employs narrow beamforming. Multiple RAR messages are successively transmitted from the base station to a User Equipment, UE, before any response to a RAR message is received from the UE. Thus, despite any calibration mismatch between Uplink, UL, and Downlink, DL, beams in the beamformed system, a RAR message is not only received by the UE, but is received over the most-suitable DL beam for that UE. Each RAR message may contain a message-specific scheduling-delay indicator in the UL grant carried in the RAR message to provide an adjustable time delay for the UE's uplink transmission scheduled by the UL grant. Multiple RAR transmissions can schedule a single UL transmission at a specific time instance or different UL transmissions at different time intervals. The UE may report to the base station the best DL RAR transmission detected by the UE.

Random-access response with analog beamforming

It is disclosed a network node, a communication device and methods therein, for scheduling of uplink resources in multiple time instances and transmitting in accordance with the scheduled UL resources. By including an indicator in an UL grant comprising an UL resource allocation, the indicator indicates that, for at least one UL time instance of the multiple time instances, at least one UL resource is excluded from, or added to, the UL resource allocation of the UL grant.
