A cleaner performing autonomous traveling includes a main body, a driving unit moving the main body, a battery supplying power to the driving unit, a communication unit performing communication with a charging station to charge the battery, a sensor sensing a signal emitted from the charging station, and a controller controlling the driving unit such that the main body is docked to the charging station on the basis of the signal sensed by the sensor, wherein when the main body starts to move to dock to the charging station, the controller determines a kind of the signal sensed by the sensor and controls the driving unit such that the main body moves along a traveling path corresponding to a circle centered on a predetermined point on the basis of the determined kind of the signal.

Cleaner and method of controlling the same

To successfully deal with a problem to be solved by the present invention, a cleaner for performing automatic driving according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a body; a driving unit for moving the body; a detecting unit for acquiring information relating to an environment around the body while the body runs in a cleaning area; and a control unit which generates map information corresponding to the cleaning area on the basis of the information acquired by the detecting unit, configures a driving cost value for each of multiple grids included in the map information, and configures a driving route of the body on the basis of the configured driving cost value.

Robot and method for controlling same

A cleaner which performs an autonomous driving, includes: a cleaner body; a driving unit for moving the cleaner body; a camera for detecting 3D coordinate information; a memory for storing pattern information related to a charging station; and a controller for comparing the 3D coordinates information detected by the camera with the pattern information related to the charging station stored in the memory, and for determining whether the charging station is positioned near the cleaner body based on a result of the comparison.

Cleaner and controlling method thereof

Disclosed are a robot cleaner, and a system and method for remotely controlling the robot cleaner. Since the robot cleaner is accessed to a terminal through a network, the robot cleaner can be controlled in more various manners. A situation inside a house can be real-time checked from the outside, and the satiation can be rapidly handled according to a state of the robot cleaner. Since the terminal and the robot cleaner are connected to each other through a network, a voice call function and an interphone function can be implemented. Furthermore, the robot cleaner can perform automatic cleaning, manual cleaning, and reservation cleaning in an autonomous manner, or in a remote-controlled manner.
