The inventive concept relates to a beating signal monitoring module and a terahertz wave generation device and an optical signal monitoring device that including the beating signal monitoring module. The beating signal monitoring module includes a nonlinear unit generating an optical signal including a FWM light in response to a beating signal generated from a first light and a second light; a filter unit separating the FWM light from the optical signal and outputting the separated FWM light; and a monitoring unit monitoring the beating signal using the separated FWM light. The beating signal monitoring module and a terahertz wave generation device and an optical signal monitoring device that including the beating signal monitoring module can effectively monitor a beating signal being generated by two lasers using a Four Wave Mixing signal.

Terahertz wave generating module and terahertz wave detecting device including the same

Provided are a THz-wave generation/detection module and a device including the same, which increase heating efficiency and are miniaturized. The module includes a photomixer chip, a lens, a PCB, and a package. The photomixer chip includes an active layer, an antenna, and a plurality of electrode pads. The lens is disposed on the photomixer chip. The PCB includes a plurality of solder balls connected to the electrode pads, under the photomixer chip. The package surrounds a bottom and side of the PCB, and dissipates heating of the active layer, which is transferred from the electrode pad of the photomixer chip to the PCB, to outside.

Provided are an apparatus and method for detecting biomaterials. The apparatus for detecting the biomaterials includes a light source unit, a biomaterial reacting unit, and a detection unit detecting. The light source unit provides incident light. The biomaterial reacting unit includes a substrate and metal nanoparticles spaced from the substrate. The surface plasmon resonance phenomenon is induced on surfaces of the metal nanoparticles by the incident light. First detecting molecules specifically binding to target molecules are immobilized to the surfaces of the metal nanoparticles. The detection unit detects a resonance wavelength of emission light emitted from the metal nanoparticles by the surface plasmon resonance phenomenon.

The multiple distributed feedback laser device further includes a first micro heater configured to supply heat to the first diffraction grating and a second micro heater configured to supply heat to the second diffraction grating.

Provided is an apparatus for detecting bio materials and a method for detecting bio materials by using the apparatus. The apparatus includes a bio material reacting unit, an optical source unit, and a detecting unit. The bio material reacting unit includes bio sensing materials immobilized on gold nanoparticles. The optical source unit emits light toward the bio material reacting unit. The detecting unit measures variations of surface absorbance of the gold nanoparticles by detecting light transmitted through the bio material reacting unit before and after a bio material is bound to the bio sensing materials.
