The pixel circuit and a display apparatus including the same are disclosed. A supply frequency of a fourth scan signal which is supplied to the pixel may be controlled, in response to a frame frequency (or a supply frequency of a second scan signal) of the display apparatus. The pixel circuit and the display apparatus including the same may be driven at various frame frequencies and suppress the mura phenomenon which may be visible to the user.

A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels connected to a data line and a gate line; a data driver configured to apply a data voltage to the data line for an active period and to apply a parking voltage to the data line for a blank period for which the data voltage is not applied; a gate driver for applying a scan signal to the gate line; a light-emission signal generator for applying a light-emission signal to the plurality of pixels; and a controller configured to operate the display device based on a plurality of bands, wherein the plurality of bands have different highest target luminance levels based on operating environments of the display device, wherein in at least one of the plurality of bands, a duty ratio of the light-emission signal is smaller than a duty ratio of the parking voltage. Thus, parking voltage mura is reduced and uniformity of the display panel is improved to improve image quality.

A display device can operate in a first mode for displaying at least a first image including first frames based on a first driving frequency, or in a second mode for displaying a second image including second frames based on a second driving frequency different from the first driving frequency. Further, when the first image displayed on the display panel operating in the first mode is changed to a third image, at least one frame among third frames running after the first image has been displayed among the plurality of frames displaying the third image operates at the second driving frequency based on the second mode. Also, in the first mode, the second image includes reset frames for periodically resetting a voltage of an anode electrode between refresh frames for supplying at least one data signal to at least one of the plurality of pixels for a preset time.

Display device and driving method of the same

A display apparatus includes a pixel row including a plurality of pixels. Each pixel includes a driving transistor that provides a driving current to a light emitting element, and includes a gate electrode, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The first transistor includes a gate electrode that receives a first scan signal, a first electrode receives a data voltage, and a second electrode. The second transistor includes a gate electrode that receives a second scan signal, a first electrode that receives an initialization voltage, and a second electrode. A ripple detection unit detects ripples that occur in pixel rows in the display apparatus. A compensation image data calculation unit calculates the magnitude of the compensation image data based on the difference between the voltage level of the initialization voltage of a pixel row in which the ripple occurs and a reference initialization voltage level.

A display device according to embodiments of the present disclosure may include a display panel, a data driver configured to drive by dividing a diving period into an active period and a blank period, and apply a parking voltage during the blank period, and a controller configured to vary a driving frequency in frame units according to an input image, and, according to the driving frequency, to operate a frame as a refresh frame for writing the data voltage, or operate by dividing the frame into the refresh frame and a hold frame, wherein a voltage level of the parking voltage varies according to the driving frequency. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent a stripe defects and improve the uniformity of the display panel by reducing the mura of a parking voltage, thereby improving image quality.

A display device including a display panel, and a method of driving the display device are provided. The display panel can operate in a first mode for displaying an image including a plurality of frames based on a first driving frequency, or in a second mode for displaying the image including the plurality of frames based on a second driving frequency different from the first driving frequency. The image displayed on the display panel operating in the first mode is changed from a first image in which the number of pixels representing a low gray level among the plurality of pixels is equal to or greater than a first threshold value, to a second image in which the number of pixels representing a high gray level among the plurality of pixels is equal to or greater than a second threshold value.
