A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a first driver, a third driver, and a separation controller. The first driver supplies a driving signal to a first electrode of a plasma display panel during a reset period, an address period and a sustain period and is electrically connected to a first reference voltage source. The third driver supplies a data signal to a third electrode of the plasma display panel during the address period and is electrically connected to a second reference voltage source. The separation controller controls the electrical separation between the first reference voltage source and the second reference voltage source during at least one period of the reset period, the address period or the sustain period.

A plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel, a sustain driver, a data driver and a reference separation controller. The plasma display panel including a first electrode, a second electrode and a third electrode crossing the first electrode and the second electrode. The sustain driver supplying a sustain signal swinging between a positive polarity sustain voltage and a negative polarity sustain voltage to the first electrode during a sustain period. The data driver supplying a data signal to the third electrode during an address period. The reference separation controller controlling a first reference voltage source, which is connected with the sustain driver and the second electrode commonly, separated from or connected with a second reference voltage source which is connected with the data driver.

A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including first, second and third electrodes, a sustain driver supplying a sustain signal to the first electrode during a sustain period, a data driver supplying a data signal to the third electrode during an address period, a first reference voltage source that is commonly connected to the sustain driver and the second electrode, a second reference voltage source connected to the data driver, and a reference separation controller. The reference separation controller separates or connects the first reference voltage source from or to the second reference voltage source.

Plasma display apparatus and method of driving the same

A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including first and second scan electrode groups, a voltage supply unit supplying a scan bias voltage and a scan voltage, first and second charge delay units that receive the scan bias voltage from the voltage supply unit and supply the scan bias voltage to the first and second scan electrode groups, first and scan signal supply units, and first and second voltage return units. The first scan signal supply unit receives the scan voltage, supplies a scan signal, of which a lowest voltage is the scan voltage, to one scan electrode belonging to the first scan electrode group, and allows the other scan electrodes to be floated.

Plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof

A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including first, second and third electrodes, a data driver supplying a data signal to the third electrode during an address period, and a sustain driver. The sustain driver consecutively supplies a first signal of a positive polarity direction, a second signal of a negative polarity direction, a third signal of a positive polarity direction, and a fourth signal of a negative polarity direction to the first electrode, and supplies a reference voltage to the second electrode during a sustain period. A duration of a bias period of the first signal is shorter than a duration of a bias period of the third signal.

A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including a first electrode and a second electrode connected to a reference voltage source, a negative voltage controller that supplies a negative voltage output from a negative constant voltage source to the first electrode, a sustain driver, and a negative voltage blocking unit. The sustain driver supplies a sustain signal to the first electrode, and one terminal of the sustain driver is connected to one terminal of the negative voltage controller. The negative voltage blocking unit prevents the negative voltage from being supplied to the reference voltage source through the sustain driver while the negative voltage controller supplies the negative voltage to the first electrode.

A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. In the method, a first pulse of a positive polarity direction and a second pulse of a negative polarity direction are alternately supplied to the first electrode during a sustain period. In this case, an absolute value of a voltage of the first pulse is different from an absolute value of a voltage of the second pulse. A third pulse of a positive polarity direction to the third electrode is supplied during the supply of the first pulse, and a fourth pulse having a sum of a voltage magnitude of the third pulse and a voltage magnitude of the second pulse is supplied to the third electrode during the supply of the second pulse.
