The disclosed electronic device may include: a processor, a memory configured to store at least one instruction executable by the processor, and a communicator, wherein the communicator may include a first antenna, a second antenna, a first filter configured to allow a radio frequency (RF) signal in a first frequency band to pass therethrough, and a second filter configured to allow an RF signal in a second frequency band to pass therethrough, and the processor is configured, in response to the at least one instruction being executed by the processor, to: connect to an access point using one of the first frequency band, the second frequency band, and a third frequency band, and control a connection between the first antenna and the first filter and a connection between the second antenna and the second filter based on a communication channel between the electronic device and the access point and a communication channel of a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection, in response to performing the P2P connection with a peripheral device.

Electronic device for performing wireless communication and operation method thereof

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device identifies, in a state paired with a first external device providing content data, an occurrence of event for pairing with a second external device; releases the pairing with the first external device and performs the pairing with the second external device; sets up the electronic device as a primary device for pairing with the first external device; transmits information about the primary device to the first external device to perform the pairing with the first external device; and based on the content data received form the first external device, outputs content and transmits the content data to the second external device.
