An optical disc drive, and a method of driving the optical disc drive are provided. Where the optical disc drive has a connectivity or a compatibility with a host that is incompatible with the optical disc drive, a file system and device information accepted by the host are provided. The host may have a compatibility with limited external medium devices and a specific command set for data exchange. The optical disc drive and the method of driving the optical disc drive may transmit compatible information to the host and select the specific command set accepted by the host, so that the optical disc drive is compatible with the host.

Selective interfacing apparatus and method

A method of recording data on an optical disc in an Incremental Recording mode in which data is partially recordable. The method includes the steps of determining whether the optical disc is formatted and recording data on the optical disc upon determining that the optical disc is not formatted; checking a state of the optical disc in a recording management area in which disc information is recorded; and erasing, after the checking step, data ranging from a next writable address to a predetermined block upon determining that the optical disc is a Minimal Blank disc in which data is erased from the recording management area to a lead-in area.

A washing machine includes a drum; a discharging duct communicating with the drum, and discharging inner air of the drum; a supplying duct communicating with the drum, and supplying external air into the drum to make a flow direction of the external air pass across that of the inner air; and a heat exchanger connected to the discharging and supplying ducts, in which a first air flow path which passes therethrough the inner air discharged outward through the discharging duct and a second air flow path which passes therethrough the external air supplied into the drum through the supplying duct cross each other. The washing machine may also include a humidity regulating part which reduces the humidity of the inner air as it is discharged. Thus, the washing machine improves efficiency of heat exchange between the inner air and the external air through the heat exchanger.
