A switch control device includes: a controller to output a control signal for controlling opening and closing of a switch; a switch driver to output a driving signal to the switch according to the control signal to control the opening and closing of the switch; and a counter connected between an output terminal of the switch driver and the switch, the counter to: receive a state signal from the controller indicating an operating state of the controller; and count a number of times that the switch is operated in an open state or a closed state by the driving signal when the state signal indicates the operating state of the controller as an abnormal state. The controller is further to detect a malfunction of the switch while the controller operates in the abnormal state based on the count.

In a relay operation state maintaining device configured to maintain an operation state of a relay when an abnormality occurs in a controller configured to control an operation of the relay, the relay operation state maintaining device includes: a memory configured to store a relay control signal output for an operation of the relay by the controller at a time the abnormality occurs and to generate and output a memory output signal based on a stored signal; a first relay driving signal generator configured to generate and output a first relay driving signal based on the relay control signal and a signal corresponding to the abnormality occurrence; and a second relay driving signal generator configured to generate and output a second relay driving signal based on the first relay driving signal and the memory output signal.

Relay operation state maintaining device and electronic device including the same

A switch control circuit and a battery pack including the same are disclosed. The switch control circuit can include a first controller outputting a first control signal for controlling a driver, and a second controller configured to detect a fault of the first controller and to output a second control signal in response to detecting the fault of the first controller. The switch control circuit can further include first to third buffers each outputting an output signal corresponding to the first control signal or changing an output terminal of each buffer to an open state in response to the second control signal. The switch control circuit can further include a holding circuit holding a previous state of an input signal of the third buffer and a switch circuit transferring the output signal of the second buffer or the third buffer to the driver in response to the second control signal.
