A humidifier for a fuel cell includes: a housing; a first space provided in the housing; a moist air supply port connected to the housing so as to communicate with the first space and configured to supply moist air discharged from a fuel cell stack; a humidification unit provided in the first space; a second space disposed separately from the first space and provided in the housing so as to communicate with the humidification unit; and an inflow gas discharge port connected to the housing so as to communicate with the second space and configured to discharge inflow gas that has passed through the humidification unit, which can simplify a structure of the humidifier and improve spatial utilization and a degree of design freedom.

Humidifier for fuel cell

A humidifier for a fuel cell is provided and includes a housing having, at a first side, a moist air supply port through which moist air is supplied from a fuel cell stack and having, at a second side, a moist air discharge port. A humidifying membrane is disposed in the housing and allows dry air to flow along the inside of the humidifying membrane. A bypass flow path is formed in the housing to allow a part of the moist air supplied to the moist air supply port to continuously flow to the moist air discharge port without passing through the humidifying membrane, thereby adjusting the amount of humidification and a differential pressure of the humidifier based on an operating condition of a fuel cell.

A humidifier for a fuel cell includes: a housing that includes a moist air supply port through which moist air is supplied, a moist air discharge port through which the moist air is discharged, and an inflow gas supply port through which inflow gas is supplied; a humidification unit provided in the housing to humidify the inflow gas by using the moist air; and a humidification amount adjusting unit to selectively adjust an amount of humidification of the inflow gas by the humidification unit based on a flow rate of the moist air supplied to the moist air supply port, thereby obtaining an advantageous effect of accurately adjusting the amount of humidification based on an operating condition of a fuel cell stack.

A fuel cell system capable of improving the chemical durability of a membrane electrode assembly by compensating for the amount of an antioxidant lost within the electrolyte membrane or electrode of the fuel cell stack in such a manner that the antioxidant is provided from an antioxidant supply device, provided in a fuel processing system and/or an air processing system, to a fuel cell stack, in preparation for a case where the antioxidant within the electrolyte membrane or electrode is lost due to the dissolution or migration characteristic of the antioxidant.

Fuel cell system

A humidifier for a fuel cell includes a body, first and second humidifying spaces formed inside the body, an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet for supplying exhaust gas released from the fuel cell stack into the first and second humidifying spaces, a passing space formed inside the body and directly or indirectly communicated with the second humidifying space and the fuel cell stack. The inflow gas flows into the passing space from the first humidifying space. A valve is installed in the passing space to allow the inflow gas introduced into the passing space to flow into the fuel cell stack with or without passing through or to allow some of the inflow gas introduced into the passing space to flow into the fuel cell stack passing through the second humidifying space and others of the inflow gas introduced into the fuel cell stack without passing through the second humidifying space.

Humidifier for a fuel cell

A humidifier for a fuel cell includes: a bundle of hollow fiber membranes disposed therein, such that an intake gas flows inside the bundle of hollow fiber membranes; a housing configured to accommodate the bundle of hollow fiber membranes, such that an exhaust gas, which has a higher humidity than the intake gas, flows inside the housing; and a guide member disposed in the housing to restrict a movement of the bundle of hollow fiber membranes inside the housing. Coolant flows through the guide member to cool the exhaust gas to promote condensation of the exhaust gas.

An air shut-off valve apparatus for a fuel cell system is provided. The apparatus includes a valve body having an inlet-side air passage through which supply air flows and an outlet-side air passage through which exhaust air flows. A valve flap is installed in the valve body to open or close the inlet-side air passage and the outlet-side air passage. An inlet-side check valve is opened when pressure of the supply air is greater than or equal to a predetermined pressure, to guide the supply air into the fuel cell stack through the inlet-side air passage even while the valve flap is closed. An outlet-side check valve is opened when pressure of the exhaust air is greater than or equal to a predetermined pressure, to guide the exhaust air released from the fuel cell stack to flow through the outlet-side air passage even while the valve flap is closed.

Air shut-off valve apparatus for fuel cell system

An apparatus and a method for controlling a humidification amount of a membrane humidifier for a fuel cell are provided. The humidification amount of the membrane humidifier relative to air supplied to a stack is changed by adjusting a difference in partial pressure of moisture between the inside and the exterior of a hollow fiber membrane that constitutes the membrane humidifier for a fuel cell.

Apparatus and method for controlling humidification amount of membrane humidifier for fuel cell

A structure of a fuel cell system and a controlling method thereof are provided. The structure of the fuel cell system includes a flow sensor that is configured to detect a flow of air introduced into the fuel cell system and an air compressor that is configured to compress the introduced air and has an air foil bearing to maintain minimum driving revolutions per minute or greater. Additionally, the system includes a flow adjuster that is connected to the fuel cell system. Accordingly, since an amount of air corresponding to a required amount of air of the fuel cell system is supplied by limiting or recirculating an excessive air supply while securing durability and durability of abrasion of the air compressor to which the air foil bearing is applied, a dry phenomenon of the fuel cell system including a stack due to the excessive supply of air is prevented.

Structure of fuel cell system and controlling method thereof

A humidification apparatus for a fuel cell system is provided herein. A membrane humidifier includes humid air inlets, through which humid air discharged from a cathode of a fuel cell stack is introduced, and air outlets, through which air humidifying dry air in hollow fiber membranes is discharged, an air line connected from a cathode outlet of the fuel cell stack to the humid air inlets of the membrane humidifier to supply humid air. Exhaust lines are connected to the air outlets. A flow control valve is provided in the air line and controls the introduction of humid air into the humid air inlets, respectively. An exhaust valve is also provided to open and close flow paths of the exhaust lines. A controller controls the opening and closing of the flow control valve and the exhaust valve based on operating conditions of the fuel cell stack.

Humidification apparatus for fuel cell system

A humidifier for a fuel cell system is provided to improve humidification efficiency of a hollow fiber improving a gas flow inside a membrane module into which tube side air and moist air are introduced. The humidifier includes a membrane module in which hollow fibers are fixed inside a case in a bundle form and a first manifold and a second manifold each assembled at both ends of the case. An inside of the membrane module includes a tube side air supply tube which forms a gas flow in the same direction as the hollow fiber and one side of the tube side air supply tube includes at least one moist air pumping part configured to suction moist air flowing in an exterior of the tube side air supply tube by a flow velocity and a flow pressure of tube side air.

Humidifier for fuel cell system

A humidifier for a fuel cell includes a connection hose part connected to an air inlet of a fuel cell stack. A humidifier port part is coupled to an inner peripheral surface of the connection hose part and connects the connection hose part to an air outlet of a humidifier housing. A condensate collection part is coupled to an upper portion of the humidifier port part so that a condensate collection space is defined between an outer peripheral surface of the condensate collection part and the inner peripheral surface of the connection hose part.

A membrane humidifier includes buffering and spacing structures each interposed between adjacent hollow fiber membranes of a plurality of hollow fiber membranes arranged in a housing of the membrane humidifier, wherein the buffering and spacing structures buffer a pressure of air supplied from an air blower and maintain a spacing between the adjacent hollow fiber membranes.
