The present disclosure provides an electronic device and a method of operating an electronic device. The electronic device includes a housing; a wireless communication circuit positioned inside the housing; a battery positioned inside the housing; a display exposed through a part of the housing; and a processor positioned inside the housing and electrically connected to at least one of the wireless communication circuit, the battery, and the display, wherein the processor is configured to collect at least one piece of state information that indicates a state of a user, determine at least one piece of specific absorption rate (SAR) characteristic information, which is related to a SAR, based on collected state information, confirm communication power information corresponding to the determined at least one piece of SAR characteristic information, and adjust communication power of the wireless communication circuit based on confirmed communication power information.

Electronic device and method for managing specific absorption rate

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including a front plate, a back plate, and a side member surrounding a space between the front plate and the back plate. The side member includes a plurality of non-conductive portions and a conductive portion. The electronic device also includes a display module, and at least one wireless communication circuit. The electronic device also includes a printed circuit board (PCB). The camera assembly is exposed through a portion of the back plate. The camera assembly includes an image sensor mounted on the PCB, and a plurality of lenses. The camera assembly also includes a barrel that surrounds the plurality of lenses, and a camera bracket that surrounds at least part of the barrel. The camera assembly also includes a metal case that surrounds at least part of the camera assembly, and a shielding structure.

In the present disclosure, even if an antenna for second communication is activated while the electronic device transmits/receives wireless signals of a plurality of frequency bands for first communication, an increase in an SAR value by frequency overlapping can be reduced or suppressed.
