The phone body has a display device and a keypad including a plurality of keys. The cover covers the phone body and includes a second keypad including a plurality of keys. The first and second keypads are functionally coupled together to input characters. The handphone has a keyboard structure, such as a computer keyboard, formed by functionally coupling the auxiliary keypad of the cover to the keypad of the phone body. In this structure, characters can be input similar to the way that characters are input through a computer keyboard, so that significantly faster character input is possible.

Outernet DNS searching units are included in a host, a DNS server, a router where a DNS server is registered, and a router where a DNS server is not registered, allowing Internet-enabled terminals to automatically search for a DNS server in an outernet. The host creates a DNS search message and transmits it to a subnet to which the host belongs so as to receive a response message. If no response message is received from the subnet (i.e., a DNS server is not connected to the subnet), the DNS search message is transmitted to an outernet to which the host does not belong, to which a DNS server is connected. Further, when a DNS server does not respond to a DNS search message from a host, a hop limit is increased to resend the DNS search message, thereby preventing waste of network bandwidth and easily detecting the closest DNS server.

An apparatus and method for preventing noise in a touch screen using a predetermined number of gates that substantially eliminates noise in advance and reduces cost includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) which converts received analog source data into digital source data, and sends the converted data. An input detection signal generator generates and sends an input detection signal containing information on a period from when the ADC receives analog source data to when the ADC finishes the conversion. A noise-preventing clock generator receives the input detection signal, generates a predetermined clock signal, and by referring to the information on the period contained in the received input detection signal, during the period from when analog source data is received to when the conversion is finished, disabling the generated clock signal and sending the clock signal. During the remaining period, the disabling is released and the clock signal is sent.
