Restoring an image is achieved by restoring a block by executing at least one first restoring function and at least one second restoring function. The first restoring function may be implemented using software, and the second restoring function may be implemented using hardware. By assigning restoring functions to be either first restoring functions or second restoring functions, even an image having high resolution can be restored and reproduced in real-time.

Apparatus and method of restoring image

A display driving device includes a timing controller, a power management integrated circuit, and a column driver. The timing controller generates image data including a plurality of pixel data, and generates a power saving signal based on magnitudes of the plurality of pixel data included in the image data. The power management integrated circuit generates a drive voltage having a voltage level that is varied based on the power saving signal. The column driver receives the image data generated by the timing controller, and generates a plurality of output voltages corresponding to the plurality of pixel data included in the image data based on the drive voltage.

A touch sensor configured to be disposed in a liquid crystal display panel includes a plurality of x-axis read-out lines crossing and insulated from a plurality of y-axis read-out lines and a plurality of sensor units. Each sensor unit includes a reset unit, a capacitance detector, a first output unit, and a second output unit. The reset unit outputs a first reset signal based on a first control signal. The capacitance detector changes the first reset signal based on a variation of a cell gap of the liquid crystal display panel caused by a touch event. The first output unit changes an electric potential of a corresponding x-axis read-out line in response to the first reset signal changed in the capacitance detector. The second output unit changes an electric potential of a corresponding y-axis read-out line in response to the first reset signal changed in the capacitance detector.

Video encoding methods and video encoders that provide improved performance while reducing power consumption. In one aspect, a video encoding method comprises the steps of outputting a parameter for a slice of a current frame, wherein the slice comprises a plurality of macroblocks, and the parameter comprises an address of a first macroblock of the slice, an address of a search area on a previous frame, a search area corresponding to a current macroblock, and a number of macroblocks comprising the slice; processing the slice by consecutively encoding and decoding each macroblock of the slice in response to the parameter; and outputting an interrupt signal for the current frame, when encoding and decoding for each macroblock of the all slices is consecutively performed so that encoding for the current frame is completed.

Provided are an illumination sensing apparatus, a driving method thereof and a display device having the illumination sensing apparatus. The illumination sensing apparatus includes an illumination sensor unit configured to generate a sensing signal according to peripheral illumination, an illumination determination unit configured to generate an illumination signal according to the sensing signal, and an illumination judgment unit configured to output a brightness select signal using the illumination signal, wherein the illumination sensor unit controls sensitivity of sensing the peripheral illumination to be varied according to the brightness select signal. Therefore, the sensitivity of an illumination sensor is automatically controlled according to the peripheral illumination, thus improving peripheral illumination sensibility. Further, an illumination signal corresponding to the peripheral illumination is provided to a light source module to thereby control the output brightness of the light source module, which makes it possible to reduce power consumption and improve image quality.

Illumination sensing apparatus, driving method thereof and display device having the illumination sensing apparatus

Source drivers and display devices that include such source drivers are provided that may be used to control the amount of output current from an output buffer. These source drivers may comprise a buffer that is configured to receive an input signal and a control circuit that is coupled to the buffer that is configured to control an output current level of the buffer. The control circuit may comprise a bias voltage generator that is configured to generate a plurality of bias voltages, and the output current level of the buffer may be controlled based on the plurality of bias voltages. Methods of controlling the amount of current output from an output buffer of the source driver and methods of driving a display device are also provided.
