A liquid crystal display includes a gate driver including stages, and a clock generator which receives a clock generation control signal, generates a clock signal and a clock bar signal based on one or more of the clock generation control signal, a gate-on voltage and a gate-off voltage, and outputs the clock signal and the clock bar signal to the gate driver. The clock generator includes an overcurrent protector unit which intercepts at least one of the clock signal and the clock bar signal when a voltage level of at least one of the gate-on voltage and the gate-off voltage is greater than a reference level.

Effective management of a Hybrid-Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) buffer in a wireless communication system is provided. A receiving terminal includes a first memory for storing Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) values of at least one data block comprised in a received HARQ burst in a first memory, a channel decoder for decoding the at least one data block by using the LLR values, an error detection unit for detecting whether there are errors in the decoded at least one data block, and a second memory for storing at least one error-free data block in a decoded state among the data blocks in a second memory.

Buffer management device and method for hybrid automatic repeat requests in a wireless communication system

A display device having a data processing section includes a memory, a first compensation section and a second compensation section. The memory outputs first compensated data based on first frame data. The first compensation section generates second compensated data based on the first compensated data and second frame data, while storing the second compensated data in the memory after the memory outputs the first compensated data. The second compensation section generates third compensated data based on the second frame data and the first compensated data. In the display device, liquid crystals provide an improved response time. Also, a reduced number of memory elements can be embedded in the data processing section.

An image display device includes an image signal source unit to provide primary image data and selected compensation data to compensate the primary image data, and a display unit to display images using compensated image data obtained by compensating the primary image data with the selected compensation data. The selected compensation data is selected from a set of compensation data in response to variation of ambient temperature of the display device. The image display device also includes a temperature sensor to detect the variation of the ambient temperature of the display device and provide temperature data corresponding to the variation of the ambient temperature. The image display device also includes a frequency sensor to detect frequency variation in a vertical synchronizing signal of the display unit, wherein the selected compensation data is selected from a set of compensation data in response to the variation of the ambient temperature and the frequency variation.

A receiving method and apparatus for combining Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) data in a wireless communication system are provided. More particularly, a method and apparatus for increasing HARQ combining capability while effectively using a limited-sized memory are provided. The receiving method for combining the HARQ data includes predicting a maximum size of currently receivable data, converting HARQ data received from a transmitting end into Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) information, determining whether the received HARQ data is retransmitted data, if the determination result shows that the HARQ data is not the retransmitted data, determining whether the converted LLR information is compressed according to the predicted maximum data size, and storing the converted LLR information in a memory according to the determination result on whether compression is necessary.

Method and apparatus for combining hybrid automatic repeat request data in wireless communication system

A method for processing data of a received frame in a receiver of a broadband wireless communication system. The received data processing method includes extracting, from control information for data of one frame having multiple bursts, burst sizes of bursts constituting the frame and modulation scheme information applied to the frame; assigning burst identifiers (IDs) used for identifying the bursts, and assigning burst partial IDs to data concatenations having concatenation sizes based on the burst sizes and the modulation scheme information; forming, in a memory, burst regions for storing the data concatenations according to the burst IDs; dividing received data of one slot included in the frame into data concatenations based on the concatenation sizes, and decoding the data concatenations; and sequentially storing the decoded data concatenations in the memory according to a burst ID and a burst partial ID corresponding to each of the decoded data concatenations.

Apparatus and method for processing received data in a broadband wireless communication system

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for efficiently controlling buffers which support a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) in a wireless communication system. Buffer regions for the HARQ scheme are not fixedly allocated according to channel identification information, but are allocated from the viewpoint of one overall memory through aggregation support. That is, an HARQ buffer is dynamically controlled. Therefore, there are the effects reducing the size of the entire chip, as well as reducing power consumption of the entire system according to the reduction of the chip size.

In a display device, a first image processor outputs a first pretilt gray scale in response to a first external image signal during a first pretilt period and a second image processor outputs a second pretilt gray scale higher than the first pretilt gray scale in response to a second external image signal during a second pretilt period. A gamma reference voltage generator outputs a gamma reference voltage. A data driver outputs a first pretilt voltage by converting the first pretilt gray scale into the first pretilt voltage and outputs a second pretilt voltage identical to the first pretilt voltage by converting the second pretilt gray scale into the second pretilt voltage.
