A secondary battery including a cylindrical can, an electrode assembly in the cylindrical can and including a plurality of first substrate tabs extending from one side of the electrode assembly along a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical can, and a plurality of second substrate tabs extending from an opposite side of the electrode assembly along the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical can; a cap assembly for sealing the cylindrical can; a first current collector plate electrically connecting the plurality of first substrate tabs to the cylindrical can; and a second current collector plate insulated from the cylindrical can and electrically connecting the plurality of second substrate tabs to the cap assembly.

Secondary battery

A cylindrical secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a separator, and a second electrode plate; a cylindrical case accommodating the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the second electrode plate; a terminal coupled to a lower surface of the case through a first gasket and electrically connected to the first electrode plate; a cap plate sealing the upper end of the case; and a second gasket between the case and the cap plate, the second gasket having: a sidewall portion in close contact with a side surface of the case; and a bottom portion extending inwardly from a bottom end of the sidewall portion and having at least one opening formed therein. The bottom portion of the second gasket having flange parts extending from the sidewall portion in an edge region and a bridge part connecting the flange parts to each other.

Cylindrical secondary battery

A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator; a case including a first side having an opening to accommodate the electrode assembly; a cap plate sealing the first side of the case; a first current collector plate arranged between the electrode assembly and the cap plate and electrically connecting the first electrode plate and the cap plate; a terminal arranged on a second side of the case; a second current collector plate electrically connecting the second electrode plate and the terminal; a first welding portion on an outer surface of the cap plate and welding the cap plate and the first current collector plate; and a second welding portion on the outer surface of the cap plate and welding the case and the cap plate.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode, a cap assembly electrically connected to the first electrode, a case accommodating the electrode assembly therein, the case having an opening in which the cap assembly is inserted, a first insulator between the cap assembly and the case, and a second insulator between the first insulator and the cap assembly. In the secondary battery, the second insulator has a higher melting point than the first insulator, thereby improving durability.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a separator, and a second electrode, sequentially stacked and wound. The secondary battery further includes a series of first electrode tabs electrically connected to the first electrode and extending to an outside of the electrode assembly. The series of first electrode tabs includes inner and outer tabs respectively located proximate to and distal to the center axis of the electrode assembly. The outer tab is connected to the inner tab at the outside of the electrode assembly. A length along the inner tab from a point where the inner tab extends from the electrode assembly to a point where the inner tab is connected to the outer tab is different from a length along the outer tab from a point where the outer tab extends from the electrode assembly to a point where the outer tab is connected to the inner tab.

An electrode assembly includes: an electrode plate which is wound together with an electrode plate having a different polarity and then formed in a form of a jelly roll and includes a plurality of non-coated portions that are spaced apart from each other; and a plurality of tabs attached to the plurality of non-coated portions, respectively, in which the plurality of non-coated portions includes a first non-coated portion having a set or predetermined width, and a second non-coated portion having a different width from the width of the first non-coated portion. According to the exemplary embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to more easily align and bond multiple tabs, and weld the multi-tab structure to a CID (or a can). Furthermore, it is possible to increase an output of a secondary battery by reducing resistance of the battery.
