Display device

A display device may include a floating electrode, a common-voltage electrode, a transistor, and a pixel electrode. The floating electrode may be electrically floating. The common-voltage electrode may be electrically connected to a voltage source. The pixel electrode may be electrically connected to the transistor. A first portion of the pixel electrode may overlap neither of the floating electrode and the common-voltage electrode in a direction perpendicular to at least one of the pixel electrode and an image display side of the display device. Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display device includes a display panel including: a lower display substrate on which a plurality of pixel electrodes are disposed in a matrix and data lines extend in a column direction between adjacent pixel electrodes; an upper display substrate on which a common electrode is disposed; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the lower display substrate and the upper display substrate and including liquid crystal molecules. The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels, each unit pixel including pixels having different colors, and each pixel including one of the pixel electrodes. A gap between neighboring unit pixels is larger than a gap between neighboring pixel electrodes within each unit pixel, and a data line positioned between the neighboring unit pixels has a portion having a width larger than that of a data line positioned between the neighboring pixel electrodes within each unit pixel.

An exemplary embodiment provides a curved display device in which occurrences of black mura are prevented or otherwise reduced. The curved display device according to the exemplary embodiment includes a curved display panel displaying images; a rear surface cover covering and supporting a rear surface of the curved display panel; and a flexible front surface chassis supporting the curved display panel.

Curved display device

A display device includes a first supporting member disposed in the first pad area of the first base substrate and spaced apart from the sealing member to define a predetermined space. A second supporting member is filled in the predetermined space by filling and curing liquid material. This protects the display panel from harsh ambience, such as light, heat and moistures, reducing the sealing and black matrix area. Such improvement can decrease the bezel size, effectively increasing viewable area of the display, which becomes more important in the mobile device.
