A method of decoding an image, the method may comprises determining whether to perform a context update for a first syntax element of a current block, updating, on the basis of the determination, a context for entropy decoding of the first syntax element and generating, on the basis of the updated context, a bin for the first syntax element, and wherein whether to perform the context update is determined on the basis of the number of pre-decoded predetermined syntax elements for the current block.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing a video, comprising: a video central processing unit which communicates with a host, receives a bitstream and parses header information; and a free scan module which generates free scan information by a free scan of a video bitstream inputted from the host according to the control of the video central processing unit, wherein the video central processing unit rearranges the bitstream on the basis of the header information and the free scan information and performs task scheduling so as to perform parallel decoding of the rearranged bitstream by a predetermined unit.

Method and apparatus for processing video

The present invention relates to a method for processing a video, comprising: a step in which a video central processing unit communicates with a host, receives a bitstream, parses header information, and generates a plurality of tasks for parallel processing; a step in which free scan information is generated by a free scan of a video bitstream inputted from the host according to the control of the video central processing unit; and a step in which a plurality of video processing units process the plurality of tasks on the basis of the free scan information and the parsed header information by receiving the control of the video central processing unit.

Accordingly, the decoding apparatus and method enable to easily verify suitability in each level of encoding, decoding and standardization and achieve the concentration of information, thereby accelerating the progress and standardization of technologies.
