A battery SOH estimating apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a SOH estimating unit configured to estimate a first SOH of a battery based on the measured voltage and current of the battery; a SOC change calculating unit configured to calculate a SOC change region and a SOC change amount of the battery based on the measured voltage; a weight calculating unit configured to calculate a weight based on a SOC region factor calculated by comparing the SOC change region with a preset criterion SOC region, a SOC change amount factor based on the SOC change amount, and a temperature factor based on the measured temperature of the battery; and a SOH correcting unit configured to correct the first SOH according to the calculated weight and a preset second SOH.

A method of manufacturing a battery cell is provided. The battery cell has an electrode assembly with a plurality of unit cells that a cathode plate and an anode plate coupled to a separator. A separation sheet or a separator is interposed therebetween. The method includes applying an electrode active material a side of a current collector to manufacture a cathode plate and an anode plate and forming an electrode tab by notching the uncoated portion of the exterior periphery the current collector in the cathode plate and the anode plate where an electrode active material is not coated while forming an aperture. The aperture penetrates through an active material coating layer and the current collector in the coated portion. The method further includes coupling the cathode plate and the anode plate to a separator at a position to allow communication of the apertures to manufacture a unit cell.

The present disclosure may significantly reduce the likelihood that a fuse of a battery pack will be melted based on a voltage value of a battery cell to which an error has occurred. Accordingly, the present disclosure may avoid an economic loss and a time loss that may occur when the fuse is incorrectly melted and the battery pack becomes unusable.
