Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for detecting and controlling a battery status by using a sensor, and an electronic device using the same, the electronic device comprising: a housing; an accommodation part arranged inside the housing and including at least one gas sensor; a battery arranged inside the housing; a memory for storing information, acquired by the at least one gas sensor, on gas leaked from the battery and operation control information of the electronic device; and a processor electrically connected to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to acquire a detection signal of gas leaked from the battery by using the at least one gas sensor, and control the operation of at least a part of the electronic device and/or charging characteristics of the battery when the acquired gas detection signal exceeds a predetermined threshold value, so as to detect, in real time, a gas leakage of the battery occurring because of the exposure of the electronic device to high temperature or heat generation and control the battery status, thereby preventing safety accidents caused by the battery. Other various embodiments in addition to the disclosed various embodiments in the present invention are possible.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display disposed toward a first surface, a housing including an opening formed toward a second surface, a tray including a hole formed toward the second surface, a sensor module that is able to be seated on the tray, a connector disposed adjacent to the opening inside the electronic device to receive the tray and the sensor module, and a processor configured to control the sensor module when the sensor module is inserted into the connector. The sensor module includes a gas sensor, a sensor chamber, and a pipe forming a path allowing gas, which is introduced through the hole, to move into the sensor chamber.

A method and system of relaying data are provided. The data is encoded into a turbo codeword by using a convolutional turbo code encoder, and the turbo codeword is transmitted from a source to a relay and a destination after puncturing by a first puncturing operation. The first punctured turbo codeword which is received in the relay is de-punctured and regenerated in a decoding operation and the regenerated turbo codeword is transmitted from the relay to the destination in punctured form after puncturing by a second puncturing operation. The punctured turbo codewords received from the source and the relay by the destination are totaled together as a totaled single turbo codeword and the totaled single turbo codeword is completely decoded to recover the data.

Provided is a turbo decoder with a variable scaling factor. The decoding convergence degree of the turbo decoder is evaluated using a sign difference ratio (SDR) value, the iterative-decoding number is limited, a variable scaling factor is calculated and applied in each decoding convergence area based on the SDR value, and the average number of decoding iterations is reduced.

Provided is a receiver of a multi-input multi-output system using multiple antennas, the receiver including: a first multiplying unit for multiplying a vector r received via the antenna by a Hermitian matrix Q; a candidate transmitting vector generating unit for detecting a signal on a lowest modulation order transmitting antenna from the received vector y output from the first multiplying unit, creating as many symbol candidates as the modulation order of the detected signal, and generating a candidate transmitting vector using each symbol candidate; a transmitting vector determining unit for obtaining a distance between each candidate transmitting vector generated by the candidate transmitting vector generating unit and the received vector y to determine a final transmitting vector; and a demodulating unit for demodulating the final transmitting vector determined by the transmitting vector determining unit. Since the receiver detects a transmitting vector with reference to a signal on a lowest modulation order transmitting antenna, the receiver can have a simpler structure.
