An organic light emitting diode (OLED) lighting apparatus is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes i) a substrate main body including a light emitting area and a sealing area surrounding the light emitting area, ii) an OLED disposed on the light emitting area of the substrate main body, iii) a sealant disposed on the sealing area of the substrate main body and iv) an encapsulation substrate encapsulating the OLED, wherein the encapsulation substrate comprises first and second surfaces opposing each other. The apparatus may further include a heat dissipating wire configured to dissipate heat generated by the OLED. The heat dissipating wire includes a heat absorption portion disposed on the first surface of the encapsulation substrate and contacting the sealant, a heat dissipating portion disposed on the second surface, and a coupling portion interconnecting the absorption portion and the heat dissipating portion.

Organic light emitting diode lighting apparatus

Provided is an organic light emitting diode display device which can improve brightness and color coordinate characteristics in all emission wavelength ranges, and thus can enhance light extraction efficiency and color reproducibility. The organic light emitting diode display device includes a substrate, a first electrode disposed on the substrate, an organic layer disposed on the first electrode and having an emission layer, a second electrode disposed on the organic layer, and first and second refraction layers. A stack of the first and second refraction layers is disposed either between the first electrode and the substrate or on the second electrode. A refractive index of the first refraction layer is smaller than a refractive index of the second refraction layer. A thickness of the first refraction layer is no greater than 100 nm.

Organic light emitting diode display device having refraction layers that improve light extraction efficiency and color reproducibility

An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device for displaying a white color using a first color and a second color that are complementary to each other. The OLED display device includes a substrate, a lower electrode on the substrate in a first direction, a first organic layer on a first region of the lower electrode and having a first EML for displaying a first color, a second organic layer on a second region of the lower electrode and having a second EML for displaying a second color that is complementary to the first color, and an upper electrode disposed on the first and second organic layers in a second direction crossing the first direction, wherein the first organic layer has a different thickness from the second organic layer. In addition, a thin film transistor (TFT) may disposed between the substrate and the lower electrode.

Organic light emitting diode display device having organic layers of varying thickness

A backlight unit for a liquid crystal display device (LCD), and an LCD including the same are disclosed. One embodiment of the backlight unit includes an organic light emitting element in which the efficiency of light extraction is improved without decreasing productivity to achieve high brightness and a low consumption power. The backlight unit includes a substrate, an organic light emitting element formed on the substrate, and an encapsulating member attached to the substrate to enclose the organic light emitting element. The backlight unit further includes a scattering film on one of surfaces of the substrate, the organic light emitting element and the encapsulating member to prevent light emitting from the organic light emitting element from being totally reflected.
