Window and display device including the same

A display apparatus includes a light source generating blue light. A display panel is configured to display an image. A light guide member is disposed below the display panel. A first light conversion layer is disposed between the light guide member and the display panel. The first light conversion layer includes a plurality of quantum dots. A low refractive layer is disposed between the light guide member and the first light conversion layer. The low refractive layer has a refractive index that is less than that of the light guide member. A second light conversion layer is disposed between the light source and the first light conversion layer and includes a plurality of fluoride-based or nitride-based phosphors. The first light conversion layer is configured to convert the blue light into green light, and the second light conversion layer is configured to convert the blue light into red light.

Backlight unit and display apparatus including the same

A display device includes a backlight unit. A display module configured to display an image is disposed on the backlight unit. A light conversion member is disposed between the display module and the backlight unit. The backlight unit includes a light source unit configured to generate light and a light guide plate configured to guide the light generated by the light source unit. The light conversion member includes a transfer layer disposed on the backlight unit and a light conversion layer disposed on the transfer layer.

Display device having a light conversion member and method for fabricating the same

A display device includes a display panel and a backlight assembly. A light source unit of the backlight assembly includes a light source board including a conductive pattern, a light emitting chip on the light source board and electrically connected to the conductive pattern, a wavelength conversion member covering the light emitting chip and converting a wavelength of light emitted from the light emitting chip; and diffusion particles in the wavelength conversion member. The light emitting chip includes a rear surface facing the light source board, a top surface opposite to the rear surface and a side surface connecting the rear surface to the top surface. A density of the diffusion particles in the wavelength conversion member at the top surface of the light emitting chip is greater than a density of the diffusion particles in the wavelength conversion member at the side surface of the light emitting chip.

Display device

A display apparatus includes a light source which generates a first light, a display module which displays an image, a light guide plate disposed under the display module, and an optical filter disposed under the light guide plate to face the display module. The optical filter includes a filter layer which transmits a portion of the first light from the light guide plate and reflects a remaining portion of the first light except for the portion and an absorbing layer disposed under the filter layer to absorb the first light transmitted thereto through the filter layer. As an incident angle of the first light incident to the filter layer with respect to a normal line of an upper surface of the filter layer increases, an overlapping bandwidth between a reflection wavelength bandwidth of the filter layer and a wavelength bandwidth of the first light increases.

Display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display module including a light conversion member including a plurality of quantum dots, a backlight unit providing a first light to the display module, and an optical filter disposed between the display module and the backlight unit. The optical filter includes a transmission filter layer transmitting a light in the first wavelength range and a second wavelength range, reflecting a light in a third wavelength range, and having a first effective refractive index and a viewing angle control layer disposed between the transmission filter layer and the display module to couple the transmission filter layer and the display module and having a second effective refractive index equal to or smaller than the first effective refractive index.

A display apparatus includes a display panel including a plurality of subpixels, where each subpixel includes one of a first color filter having a first primary color, a second color filter having a second primary color and a third color filter having a third primary color, and a light source part which provides light to the display panel, where the light source part includes a first light source which generates a first light having the first primary color and a second light source which generates a second light having a mixed color of the second primary color and the third primary color, where the first light source and the second light source are alternately in a turned-on state.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A manufacturing method of a backlight unit includes providing a solder paste on a printed circuit board and forming a solder part in a first area of the printed circuit board, aligning a bank mask on the printed circuit board to align a first opening defined through the bank mask with a second area of the printed circuit board not overlapped with the first area, providing a bank material in the first opening and forming a bank on the printed circuit board in an area corresponding to the second area, separating the bank mask from the printed circuit board including the bank thereon, and connecting the solder part of the printed circuit board and a light emitting unit to each other.

Backlight unit and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes a light source unit, a light guide plate including a light incident surface, an opposite surface, a light exit surface, and a light exit rear surface, a display panel provided on the light exit surface, a bottom chassis for housing the light guide plate, and an anti-static electricity member including a fluoride resin and contacting the bottom chassis, where the bottom chassis includes a bottom section and a sidewall section perpendicularly connected from the bottom section, and the sidewall section includes a first sidewall section more adjacent close to the light incident surface than the opposite surface, a second sidewall section, a third sidewall section, and the fourth sidewall section, and the anti-static electricity member is provided between the first sidewall section and the light source unit and contacting at least a portion of the first sidewall section.

A curved display device includes a display panel having a curved shape and including a display area having a curved surface and a backlight assembly providing a light to the display panel. The backlight assembly includes a plurality of light sources, a printed circuit board on which the light sources are mounted, and a light guiding plate. The light guiding plate has a curved shape and guides the light provided from the light sources to the display panel. The light sources are sequentially arranged along the curved direction of the light guiding plate, and a longitudinal direction of at least one of the light sources is different from a longitudinal direction of the other light sources.

Curved display device

A manufacturing method of a display apparatus includes providing a backlight unit under a display panel to provide a light to the display panel. The providing of the backlight unit includes disposing a light source on a substrate to emit the light, disposing a mask above the light source, which includes a first opening and a second opening greater than the first opening disposed under the first opening, and providing a transparent resin including a wavelength converting material on the light source through the first and second openings to form a wavelength converting member. A width in a cross section of the wavelength converting member along a direction substantially vertical to the substrate becomes smaller as a distance from the substrate becomes greater.

Display apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

A light source device includes a light source module having a light-emitting block, an image analysis part, a duty ratio calculation part, a duty ratio determination part and a signal generation part. The image analysis part extracts representative luminance data of the light-emitting block based on pixel data. The duty ratio calculation part calculates duty ratio data of the light-emitting block based on the representative luminance data. The duty ratio determination part generates determined duty ratio data of the light-emitting block based on the duty ratio data from a first period, and the signal generation part generates a driving signal having a duty ratio corresponding to the determined duty ratio data to drive the light-emitting block.

Method for adjusting pixel data based on the duty ratio history of the backlight in order to compensate for the temperature of the backlight

A backlight assembly includes a light emitting portion, a chromaticity converter and a light guide plate. The light emitting portion generates a first light. The chromaticity converter receives the first light, and converts a chromaticity of the first light to generate a uniform light having a uniform chromaticity. The light guide plate includes an incident surface to which the uniform light is incident, and a light exiting surface guiding the uniform light provided from the incident surface and emitting the uniform light. Accordingly, a display quality of a display apparatus may be enhanced.

Backlight assembly and display apparatus having the same

A backlight driving circuit for a display apparatus includes a receiver, a signal modulation detector and a driver. The receiver receives a clock signal and a brightness data signal by a serial transmission and in response to an enable signal. The brightness data signal is synchronized with the clock signal and includes brightness information. The signal modulation detector detects a modulation of the brightness data signal, based on at least one of the clock signal and the enable signal, and outputs a control signal based on a detected result thereof. The driver receives the brightness data signal, in synchronization with the clock signal, selects one of the brightness data signal and a predetermined reference brightness data signal in response to the control signal, generates a driving voltage using the selected brightness data signal, and provides the driving voltage to the backlight unit to control the brightness of the backlight unit.
